Default For RLers ONLY: For Sale

Well, despite the physical threats to my being (No H20, this is you), I've decided to float my car out on the market to just the RL crowd. If it sells, it went to a good home. If it doesn't, I don't mind keeping it...just have to find some space!

1997 Porsche 993 Turbo
WP0AC2998VS375087
39,800 miles
Guards Red / Black Interior
Turbo S front Spoiler / Fogs
Full Carbon interior
996 Carbon Steering Wheel & shifter
Sport Seats with Guards Red Hardbacks
ROW 030 Suspension with Bilsteins
Michelin Pilot Sports with > 75% Front and Rear
All services up to date (60k), performed by yours truly
Ported and Polished Heat Exchangers
Completely Stock motor, no mods.
Rebuilt Transmission & New clutch prior to my purchase
Recent Leakdown test showing between 8% and 10%
Newly sprayed front end and other bits and parts touched up with Glasurit

Asking $72,500 (don't waste bandwidth with stupid offers, please)

Car came to me out of CA, where I bought it from a distressed situation (the dude who bought it got arrested for drugs and a Mercedes dealer got a hold of it), so it probably shows one more owner than it really had...not sure if said drug dealer ever even saw it.

Any other questions will just have to come via PM or email.

Are there any drugs still packed away in the door panels - it might add to its value? Beautiful car and GLWS!

Scott,

She's a beauty with all the right stuff. Good luck with selling/not selling... either way is good.

Very nice, especially the sport seats (painted). Looks like a fair price as well. Mine has the same miles but fewer goodies.

The high ones were 2 and 5, which Kevin says is normal. It is from the typical exhaust valve area, best I can tell. He and I spent a bit of time talking about it this winter while I had the car apart. His counseling was (given how I use it) if it doesn't smoke and makes full boost and is under 12%, don't worry about it.

Seeing as how it doesn't smoke at all, makes good boost, and runs like a champ. I'm not inclined to worry about it.

Your car looks lovely.

That is what I have always been told by techs I trust.

Has Kevin changed his opinion on leakdown numbers?

Previously he said:
Like I have said on previous threads, if your engine is sitting at 8% then you seriously need to start saving your pennies, because your engine will need a topend overhaul sooner vs later.

Not sure, we always talked about 12% being the magic number, and to keep an eye on it for other symptoms. If I'm recollecting wrong, perhaps he'll jump in.

Just trying to be as upfront as possible, perhaps I should have left that off. I didn't mention it has a couple rock chips too

Scott, I gave you fair warning, several days ago. Do I need to repeat myself? Why do I need to keep reminding you?

Don't make me come down there!

I'm on my way and bring this with:
