That's a tricky one. Without more information it's impossible to say with any certainty.
Do you know the year make and model of the car?
Wheel sizes would be useful too - ooh, and don't forget the colour [paint code #]..........

Paint code#????? It's a 97 993 TT with stockwheels. As far as I know, the only modification is Eibach springs.

come on x50 lets give charlie the benefit of the doubt, he/she's probably just saw a pic in an add or something and honestly asking ...

charlie, that's a strut bar (probably fvd) and the box is air pump for the collapsable spare that plugs into your cig lighter.

I've always used them to hang my dry cleaning. Like Rufus's master said its a strut tower brace. Designed to help maintain alignment settings under hard load(heavy cornering). Picture going around a corner very fast the tops of the strut towers will want to pull away from each other. Unless you are doing track day or even racing its pointless on a street car IMO.

Cheers and welcome to the board of Smartasses(you should check out the Cayenne forum sometime for some good laughs).

The black box is the electric airpump for the spare tire...plugs into your cigarette lighter.

Have you tested the air compressor yet?
