Who got caught? US Marshal Auction 1996 Blue in NJ
Stumbled across this. I've never been to these auctions and don't plan on going so I have no idea how these sales work. Might make a good buy, but after reviewing the previous sales it seems there's no real bargain given the uncertainty of these cars.
51,000 miles, appears to have sport seats

LOL, what are the chances that it's this one?

Saw the car today. Needs a lot of engine work including new seals .It was burning a lot of oil. Also needs a new stereo/speaker system, has missing spare, the head rest were embossed with the name brian in it. whole car was painted. couldn't tell if frame damage, but there were 3 different colors blues used when they re painted the car. Looks like a very cheap paint job. Overspray all over the place. Also the wheels were narrow body hollow chromes. They couldn't close the sunroof while I was there. Hopefully they fixed, because NJ is due for 4-6 inch of snow tonight. Over all the car was a "bomb" and needs at least $20-$30k+ to make decent. I wish the winner a lot of luck, and hope they know what they are in for.

I saw the car today, too, and it was as sad a sight as you'd ever want to see. Ruel831 didn't really convey the horror. The windshield inspection sticker says it was ex-New York. There wasn't too much smoke out the exhausts on startup, but as it ran for 5 minutes, a lot of smoke started pouring out, especially out of the right side exhaust. I'm guessing it'll need new turbos, plus plumbing. The left rear wheel was physically pretty far inside the wheel well (maybe 3 or 4 inches), although the right rear looked normal. The seats were not 993 sport seats, possibly they were 996. Both were embossed with names, Andrew on the driver's seat and Brian on the passenger's seat. The sound system had been ripped out, head unit and all speakers. I don't know what type of intercooler it had, but it wasn't stock; possibly an Autothority? The screen on the spoiler was gone, so the intercooler shows through. Also, it has a non-stock and pretty loud exhaust. The paint was mismatched, and the right rear quarter panel paint was "darkened." I personally think it was hit, and hard. There was some type of pimp fabric at the base of the interior windshield. The chrome twists looked even more hideous in person. There was a lot of surface rust on the hubs, less on the rotors. One might have to spend more than $30k for a professional to fix it...it'll definitely be a "project." Without driving it, who knows what the trans and clutch are like? As it was, I would say it's undriveable due to the smoking issue. Ruel831 wasn't exaggerating...and I almost cried.
