From what I read back when I was considering switching to sythentic that's not the case anymore. Mobil stiffed itself back in the day when they introduced Mobile 1 by not adding the additive that cares for gaskets and seals. As a result there were quite a bit of failures. It's not the case today and there are now additives that help to swell older gaskets and seals.

I went from 10-30 dino to 5-30 synthetic and it actually stopped some seepage I had, so I'm convinced. Did quite a bit to clean the engine, too.

Dino oil should not be run in this engine. Carbon build up, SAI issues, Coking in the turbochargers are all of the Great benefits that you get when you run a non-synthetic oil in a turbocharged air-cooled engine.

Hey Ronnie, that is the regular every day price....$9.49-9.99/qt. I've never seen it on sale the past 12 months.

On your next trip to Buffalo, if you ever go there, buy some. I am in the Toronto area about 4 times per year. If I can help you buy some let me know, as long as I am not breaking any rules at border control going over the Peace Bridge check point.

Guys, "brain freeze," I stand corrected. I thought my tech had put me into Swepco, however, I have in fact been on Amsoil Synthetic. Will be going with Mobil V-Twin, nonetheless. Thanks for the replies. We're all good!

Hey Ronnie, try this. Call this Mobil Distributor in the Chicago area. and see if you can establist an account number, and maybe they can ship the oil to you into Canada. I buy my Mobil 1 5W50 (very hard to find retail) and Mobil Delvac 75W90 from them for my Boxster. Their prices are just slightly below retail. Petroliance 800-628-7231.

5w50 is readily available through Canadian Tire for $34/5 L jug on sale. Since I spoke to you, a buddy indicated the V Twin also goes on sale here so I'll keep my eye on it. Since it isn't required until my fall change, I'm hoping to get it for close to, or less than, the Petroliance price plus trany............Could still use that 93 octane no corn syrup tanker though!
