A tough decision...appreciate your thoughts on my 1997 993TT

997TTs are dipping into the high $70s already. I say in under 2 years, a nice 997TT and nice 993TT will be in parity.
By going down to one car, you compromise on both ends. You don't have as enjoyable a weekend car, and you don't have as comfy a daily car.
I don't necessarily agree with the idea of an M3 daily and 911 weekend car.
I go huge boat thats as comfy as possible for the week, and the pure car for the weekend.
Furthermore, when you have 2 cars, you have the option of driving the "fun" car whenever you want...whether you choose not to is a personal decision.
I doubt I could ever go back to one car, but if I did, its tough to beat a 997TT

993GUY knows me and I am lucky to have more than a few choices - none I would ever consider compromises. The 997 would be the ultimate double threat! Yo!

I disagree, and I'm a bit confused how one can not be a fan of comfortable.
Do you enjoy being uncomfortable?
The 993 is far more raw than the more touring oriented 997, regardless of performance.

A 997TT can get pretty close to a ***** out performance car with the proper tweaking and still be comfortable and really not "touring" IMHO

The ability to have a car as a daily driver that makes you smile when you think about your drive to the office; the drive home .... Everyday ..... Is rare - and in many way a huge stress reducer Your 993 is a great car, but wouldn't you rather be able to drive an exceptional car everyday, mile after mile? You have that opportunity with a properly set up 997.
Why compromise on the bulk of your driving? That is not a rational tradeoff in my book - especially considering you are sacrificing a few weekend blasts when you can have BOTH a daily blast and a weekend warrior - in one car.

The figure that comes to mind for me is $65k as a starting point if you are going to sell it at the start of the season. I think you really need to drive the other cars that you are talking about and drive your own again, too. Give yourself some time to think this one through. You obviously know that the value of the others will head south pretty fast. Have you considered replacing the M3 with a 996TT. These offer amazing value right now and are really quite nice in many respects. This would also allow you to keep your 993 if you are still really fond of it.

LOL...I guess it does technically make me 997 guy but truth is, I'll always be an air cooled guy.
No regrets on selling the 993TT...great car passed to a great friend. Still get to visit and drive it on occasion. I'm a normally aspirated fan at the end of the day...

keep it. SEll the M3. I sometimes think about selling mine. THen it changes quickly.
The other day I was speaking to a gentleman that was cleaning a 2011 Turbo S (Brown/Brown/Yellow... Beautiful) at the shop where my car is. he had also just gotten out of a 2010 GT3rs. Long story short... The guy offered up to me some advice. He Said " You know sir, These cars (turbo S and GT3rs) are nice. They look flashy and classy. But, Everywhere you go, everybody have them (spanish accent). Your car, Its like a super model that no where you go you see another. Too Much rare. I like it the best. Don't sell your car."
