They've always been referred to that way. Perhaps when (was it that long ago?) it was not too uncommon for the interior to have black seats/trim and offsetting carpet?

IIRC, there was one 993 Turbo in this month's issue of Pano. It was a black '97 and low mileage (<14K). No price was listed.

You are correct..Triple black was a term to describe Cabs(and not just Porsches)...Black top, Black color and black interior...
