Default My ~new to me~ 993 Turbo

Well, I have been searching for a couple of months for a 993 Turbo. I finally bought one this week in California.

It's a 1996 model with a handful of mods. Black with black and tan interior. Some of you may recognize it as it belonged to a fellow Rennlister.

UMW hybrid turbos
Cargraphic aux oil cooler
5 bar fpr
Protomotive intercooler
GT2 clutch
LWF
Front euro bumper with turbo s ducts and euro turn signals
Rear euro turn signals
RSR loud muffler
Techart sport cat
Gert Front Protection Bar

There are a few issues that I am having fixed before I bring the car home to Pinewood, a small town in northern Minnesota.

I only have a picture that was taken before I bought the car. When I get the car home I will get some better pics. I was able to drive the car for about 6 miles on a busy California freeway so I really can't comment much on the car yet. I have had older 911's in the past but this is the first 993 for me. If there are any things I should know about these cars, your advice is appreciated.

Seriously! Does the list of perfect 993tt's never end in the US!! Black with tan leather and subtle mods!! This kind of car just isn't for sale in the UK! ...AND the pedals are better laid out in LHD models! I might have to move. UK's getting worse by the day anyway, they're talking about tracking everyone's movement with GPS within three years for pay by the mile road charging!! How long before they start using that to prosecute for speeding!!

love the black on black combo. UMW system rocks so you should enjoy it.

Yes, I thought some of you might recognize it.

Thanks for all the nice comments. I'm been looking forward to owning one since they first came to the states. I won't get much opportunity to use it as winter is here in Minnesota and when it comes home at Christmas it'll just sit in the garage til May.

Doug, I may run a few DE weekends with the Nord Stern crowd. It's been a while since I was there. I went through the class with instructor about 10 years ago in a 951 I used to own. Had a lot of fun, maybe I'll give it another go.
Do you know Bob and the boys at Auto Edge? If you don't you should. A great bunch that have always done quality work on my Porsche's in the past.

By the way, a friend of mine just purchased a 2008 M6 (500 hp V-10) yesterday and tells me he is looking forward to whooping my Porsche in the spring. How do you think my 993 would fare against such a beast?

I suspect it will do very well. You've likely got 450+ in a much lighter and more agile car.
