I think you are seeing a number of new track layouts that share the same design characteristics which make them "club tracks" rather than "driver's tracks". The club tracks are designed to control the speed around the track and are designed with a street car in mind. A driver's track is one that keeps the momentum flowing which is why many people enjoy the Glen. Lime Rock, although small, is a driver's track when configured in the original layout and is fun. Monticello is most certainly a club track, even in the long format, but then, I think that is was designed to be.
