Default Finally bought a 993tt

My new baby will not arrive home for a few weeks, but I cannot postpone the announcement of my purchase.

She is completely stock and I am trying to determine the upgrades needed for a 1996. The suspension is the first item I believe that needs to be addressed. Any opinions on the order of my next upgrades / mods?

Pictures will be posted on her arrival.

35k miles, clean, from KC Kansas, red/black, rear seat delete

PPI performed by Karl Wilen (DOC WILEN RACING)
Cylinder Leak down : Compression
1 1% 150psi
2 1% 150psi
3 2% 145psi
4 2% 155psi
5 2% 150psi
6 1% 150psi

I am so ready for her to arrive! A turbo Porsche has been my dream since living in DE as a kid (too long ago).

Oooh, we need to get our cars together for some photos and a drive. I cannot wait to see it.

Congrats! Fly up there and drive it home. Come on, why wait!

I want to fly up and drive her home, but work is preventing the dream. The transport will also be bringing a silver '69 Citroen DS21 to my garage.

Seems we have similar taste in cars.... tt and rr.

A photo shoot of our cars would be great. I still love your wheels!

I hope I will be able to post a similar announcement one day, too. Congrats on purchasing the ultimate. Safe and happy motoring.

Congrats on your new car. I hope you did your research on this car. This car sounds just like one that has been bouncing around several auto sales sites for the past +14 months. I first saw it on Cars.com in February 2008.

Owner #3 or #4 was a KC resident (Robert E.) who bought it from a Springfield, MO car dealer (Premier, who shares space with Willhoit). The Springfield dealer got it from a Lambo dealer in possibly Texas, IIRC. Robert sold the car (for $63K) to a car broker Michael Kelly (33,400 miles), and soon after re-showed on AutoTrader. Something happened during the transaction, and Robert was very bitter towards Kelly. This was in June 2008 and the car bounced around several times after that.

Both turbos were replaced as was the clutch and flywheel, and one of the turbos was replaced twice in less than 1 year. Differential was also re-built. I spoke to the KC owner, before he sold it, and he was a nice guy, and seemed to have taken good car of the car. He said that the car was being sold because he needed college fund money for his daughter. He sent me a few documents and history on the car. I'll try to PM them to you if I can find them.

Your leakdown numbers look very good. Almost too good.

I've been kicking around the idea of a DS or 2CV. The DS is probably better for the modern road but the simplicity of the 2CV is very cool too. Please send me pictures and info on the DS. My email is jason@htlkeys.com.

Congrats on the purchase...you're gonna love the TT! Definitely recommend the PSS9 or 10's upgrade...you may be able to pick up some left over PSS9's at a discount if you look around online. Also would recommend billet diverter valves, pretty inexpensive upgrade that's worth doing imho. Enjoy!

If you love my wheels, you will love the engine even more! Turbo R upgrade is really something.

BTW, if you don't already have a good shop, RUF Dallas will take good care of you. They did most of my recent mods. (But not the Turbo R conversion, that was done in Germany.)
