Default Carrera Wheel on 993 TT ?

Hi,

I went through the 35 pages of "Who has the coolest wheels..." but couldn't find what I'm looking for : pictures of the 2002 996 Carrera Wheels on a 993 TT (ideally in Polar Silver). Any clue where I could find pics ?

Greetings from Luxembourg

Alain

Well, weelenhancement was the first thing I tried, but they don't have a 993TT and the polar silver 993 has black wheels. I think there won't be that many TT with these wheels and before being one of them I really would like to see what it looks like (silver 993TT with silver Carrera wheels) also because of the tail wing.

I assume you'll have to use spacers in the rear due to the offset?

Yes, 25 mm spacers. Before the TT I had a C4S, put the Carrera wheels on and liked the look. But that car was ocean blue and of course had no rear wing. Really would like to see what they look like on a silver car with wing......

I think if you check the "rare color and other oddities.." thread there's a picture there of a military green 993TT with My02 wheels.. It looks pretty good actually. I wonder if those are lighter than the original hollowspokes. I'd think so anyways.

try posting pics of your other car and new one on 993 forum (more users) and ask someone to photoshop it. good luck!
IMO black wheels are the way to go, and with the carrera wheels you will have thinner tires and lose grip.

Before I mounted the MY02s on the cab, I fitted them to the Turbo just to see what they would look like...I took a few pics but unfortunatley I can't find them. Aesthetically they looked ok but IMHO the spokes are just too thin and don't balance the "bulkiness" of the Turbo body, especially with the tail - I think the MY02s look much better on a NB...even better than on a C2S/C4S w/o the tail. I also wasn't keen on the MY02s needing spacers front and rear to look right....the width and "bulkiness" of the TT body especially emphaszess just how much gap there is on the front fender. Just my $0.02.

@ Viggo and Roc : yes, these are the wheels in black !
@ Dan : didn't get the one about the thinner tires.....the Carrera wheel is an 18 inch just like the hollowspoke
Finally @ David : that's exactly my concern and the reason why I would like to see pictures of silver wheels on a silver TT...

Many thanks

Alain

I think Dan was referring to tire width Alain.

I dont think it will work because people will think your Turbo is a posuer. Since it will have Carrera wheels then most people will think you put a wing on a carrera and didnt bother updating the wheels.
I wouldnt do it because of that.
Just a different thought.
