While someone may tell you they've heard of a short shift for the 993TT, my search suggests no one manufactures one. Even Ruf say they don't provide a short shift for a 993TT. Some folks here and there seem to have modified a short shift made for another make and installed it with some dipling of the trans tunnel, but again, rare finds. Let us know if you come up with something; I'd like one in my 993TT as well.

And others have dealt with Viper Bob
Here's one installed

I wonder what would happen if you took the stock shifter out, cut an inch from the middle of it, then re-welded the pieces back together? You'd technically have a shorter throw, no?

Seems kinda silly to have this problem where the shifter is affected by speed bumps along the bottom of the car.

fredcalero,
as shawsan said.....
carnewal
viper bob
FVD also make one HERE
can't go wrong with any of them

cincy scott
all you are suggesting is shortening the length of the gearstick.
as much as that may slightly shorten the length the gear **** moves, it does not give an improvement in shift quality....infact it reduces it.

the short shifters moves the pivot point, which yields a shorter throw, AND IMPROVED SHIFT QUALITY < [just incase you missed my point ]

I have always had low suspension in my 993TT's
....and have NEVER scraped the short shifter "hump" on a speedbump

A newbie question: If you have done the 2wd conversion, how does this affect the above suggested alternatives? Then you can just buy the RS short shift kit, right?

Both Sunset and Viper Bob sell the Factory RS short shift level and fork. for under $100 including shipping.

I bought mine form VP along with some other parts I need to convert my tt to RWD.

Exactly, RS shift fork and lever are all you need... unless you also want to make it more precise.

The shift rod is about $380 (at least right now). There are ways around that though...

I will have a friend make the shift rod. We will use a stainless steel rod. Go to this link:

I have the Carnewal one installed on my 993TT. Significant difference, a little bit of cutting is necessary on the tunnel cover... aside from that, I love this mod.

For a tt or C4 isn't part number 964 424 015 08 all that you need? About $50-60 from Sunset or http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...?siteid=214626
