Default Turbokraft IC

Any reports? Haven't heard of this one but these guys do have a really good rep from everyone I've talked too.

haha thanks Simon. Those are cargraphic racing wheels, since my car is getting GT2 fenders they are being replaced with BBS motorsports My buddy has spoken for them already but they are great wheels thats for sure.

So NO one has a turbokraft IC or has anything to say about it?

Turbokraft are the people who helped Jussi build his 700hp explodamota

They say that this I/C has the same volume as the GT2 I/C, if they mean the first GT2 I/C like LAT has then this is meaning less since this Porsche I/C whilst bigger cools no better than stock. If they mean the Secan GT2 I/C then it is just a badly informed statement since there is far more to the Secan than just its volume, the Secan Porsche MS I/C has a much larger surface area and is thinner, all stuff calculated to support the ~640PS which the GT2s raced with....

I wouldn't believe that just inserting different cores works better than stock unless it was proven.... Refer to the 9M I/C thread, Phelix pretty much covers it....

As TB says, I'd be confident that this intercooler offers minimal if any benefit over stock. Increasing core thickness can help a little with correctly designed cores, increasing core face area helps a bit more (as they tried to do with the early GT2 IC), but is limited by the available space.
By far the most important effect is core efficiency. The latest technology cores from Secan (and Marston) offer both low pressure drops and far higher heat transfer rates in the same area. They do this using very high fin densities and fins specially shaped to minimise boundary layers (which interfere with heat transfer). The downside is the very high cost of these cores which are effectively hand made.

Yeah I had basically written off Andial after that.

The Turbokraft cores are what is interesting and will surprise many here given its price.

Chris was being cautious and only alluded to the core supplier so until I get 100% confirmation from him I'm not going to say. Don't want to spread misinformation. Wouldn't buy one without him telling me whom the supplier is but he may not tell me unless I buy one if you know what I mean

You can kind of see the density of the fins in this pic, cores are 3.5 inches thick. Chris is a good guy, seems to know his turbos and I enjoyed discussing the IC with him, this may be the way I go......

Could you do a good few laps (say 6 plus) round the track with the stock I/C on board monitoring the IAT using a Hammer, then whip the new one on (5 minute job) and repete and see what gives lower IAT under sustained thrashing.

That will show you how good your after market I/C is

Look forward to reading the results

You can log IATs with the durametric tool although the data rate is 2 per second which is horrible. I'm used to ME7 which is light years better but I'll just have to make do

I've never been able to get my Durametric to read IAT, all I get is a flat line. Has anyone else had this experience?
