Poll - FLAT BLACK or GLOSS BLACK?
Ok as with the other thread - Bodywerks in progress.
My buddy that runs the body shop is trying to talk me into a FLAT/SATIN finish on the car..... With GLOSS black wheels. Sponsor decals will probably be in either lime green or just white.
I am in two minds....but leaning towards the GLOSS black.
I am worried Satin/flat will:
(a) always look "dirty" (I do love a clean black car)
(b) Detract from the overall look of the GT2 kit with all the Carbon
(c) grow old on me quickly - I know it will look tuff - but then will I get bored of it????
Just a few opinions from my RL buddies might help me go with satin.......in case I am missing something - after all its not that often you get the opportunity to spray the car!
Simon.

There are a few flat black race cars and they never appealed to me. It becomes a very taste specific car. I like to polish and wax a car, it is relaxing. You have to becareful what you put on the flat black because it streaks. My suggestion is to do what you like without regard to other's opinions though.

If you go with matt black it will limit your car's appeal should you ever decide to sell it. Another option is a plastic wrap on top of the jet black - more expensive but will protect the paint and when you get bored it can be removed. Here's a link - try to concentrate on the car and foil. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhPqo...eature=related

Phelix,
I agree with you about the resale - although i doubt i will ever sell the car - with the amount of mods - it will have limited appeal anyway......
I like the idea of the wrap - but once I have it together again - I doubt i will want to take it apart anytime soon.....
I am TORN bewteen the 2 looks - on one hand how good would it look - full GT2 EVO in satin black and gloss wheels - I just worry the car will look dated quickly....

I love the stealth look and would go with satin black. However, if you get bored with it or find upkeep is a pain in the ***, I would paint it gloss black and use a vinyl wrap. Best of both worlds.

I don't know about you Simon, but I am going Satin Black all the way for this season , the work already started it will be finished by second week of October with all the aero bits. It will be foil, not paint however, with my sponsor's logo, which is quite colourful.
If you go satin black alone, it "might" be too dull.. you would need a couple of spots with a strong colour to break the tone. Gold could be one, red would be gorgeous too (the front lip and wing side plates maybe, I am not very artistic!)
Here are a couple of pictures from Satin black monsters. Dark green looks fabulous too.

you need to be careful not to play into a trend....my opinion is the flat black is really cool but will get old fast and be seen as 'dated' in about 5 years.

get the car covered in a vinyl wrap to test the waters first, if you don't like it simply remove it and try something else. I like flat black personally for race cars...not so much on the street.
