Default Bridgestone Potenza S02s

Gents,

Just wrapped the 993TT in S02s all the way around at Discount Tire (bill was anything but a discount - approx $1700 with all fees, etc.) here in Texas. I more or less supervised the process to ensure it went well. It did.

I had PZeros on the car before, fronts were fine but the rears were displaying the wear bar.........so I opted out. Any thoughts on these???

I have em now. They work pretty good but man are they loud! I'm getting ready to buy some Michilin PS2 which is apparently quieter and a better performer than the loud S02''s. However, there is a Sumitomo with their HTRZ3 which cost half the price of these high end tires and are getting excellent reviews with parameters approaching Pirelli/Bridgestone/Michilin. There is a large thread on the 993 n.a. (use search function) and tire rack has a write-up and testing showing very promising results. For me, the jury is still out, guess I'll just wait...

I am running the S02s also.I never liked the S02A but am very pleased with the the latest version of S02 which I think has been developed over the years from the original S02 (which my car was fitted with from the factory).

I agree that PS2s are THE best road tyres but they are not made in factory 993tt sizes unfortunately....

I've been quite impressed with the Bridgestone RE050PP - much quieter than the S02 and better riding. Excellent wet grip including on the track. Turn-in not quite as crisp.
