Default Bodywork progress

Following Jussi's amazing work here are some pics of work being undertaken to mine.
Basically:
New non sunroof roof
Hidden roll over protection strengthening
Gutter removal
Plexiglass
Front light washer delete (with leading)
Full body respray
Apparently sunroof v non sunroof was worth about 15kg with another 4kg going back in with additional strengthening steel....

Oh my! True labor of love.
Does hidden roll over protection strengthening means integrated roll cage?

Toby,

Your fabulous turbo is going to be even nicer.... but holy mother of gawd, what a lot of work. You truly are a nitwit, meant in the most complimentary sort of way. Can't wait to see the after pictures. How long will this take?

WOW!

Congratulations, you have also "spoiled" this driving season like me
But your car will be much better after it is ready !

Funny to see your mods because I did almost same this "Hidden roll over protection strengthening" as I see from your pictures. I also strengtened roof's sides with extra sheet metal.

If you car is still under construction, I can give you a hint.. M3 style side mirrors with turn signals.. I did also this and removed original side blinkers

btw. I have also makrolon rear window to be installed. Do you know can it be glued like a normal glass?

Toby,

Niiiiiiice Glad to see she is coming along.

How did you go with the IRC? OR are you just doing the strengthening? Also - Where did you source the Banana?

Simon.

Guys
Thanks for all the encouragement

vincentdds
The strengthening is an attempt at an IRC although not as comprehensive - I don't actually know just how extensive it is but will report on this aspect with more pics when the job is completed.
Steve
Could be ready in 3 weeks, but we all know how that piece of string just keeps getting longer !
Jussi
You know me, lots of talk but no real idea when the hands start getting dirty. I have no idea how the rear plexiglass is going tobe bonded although it is the DP one with the carbon "flush" frame and he talked about making sure it is fully sealed for leaks.
Simon
"wibble banana" is the mad ramblings a la Black Adder - but I forgot the connection with the spoiler . The GT2 spoiler is from MOD500, he has my OEM ttS unit and I took his OEM GT2 item - I could not believe how bloody heavy this piece is !

Nice. Hopefully you are using some type of Polycarbonate rather than plexiglass...

Toby

Great stuff, if only there was an easy way to do the rain gutters.

How many hours would you think that it would take to do just the rain gutter delete complete with repaint?

Some more pics to illustrate the work. Jussi can say exactly how much work is entailed but I would think a lot depends on the quality of the job/competance of bodyman. My man seems to be using lead which AFAIK is a fairly specialised old fashioned way of giving the best possible finish ?
Geoffrey
DP Motorsport list the items as Plexiglass and say they are suitable for road use so ?

Plexiglass will break into sharp pieces. Polycarbonate does not. You can bend it in 1/2 and it won't break. You may consider looking into what they are offering, perhaps safety issues have been addressed.
