Default Arena Red

What do you guys think about Arena Red as a color? I am thinking about buying one in this color and want to be conscious about resale in the current market.

It's the "poster color" for the 993TT.

I'm biased too, having owned two different arena red 993TTs. But I understand that in the UK, it is a less desirable color. Here, I get a ton of compliments on the color. I do not care for the guards red calipers on the arena red car, however.... yellow calipers are the perfect compliment.

Great color. Several for sale in the US right now. One recently was sold to a German customer, I was told.

ca993twin,
Yours is one of the best examples I've ever seen, and it looked even better in person at Ruf Auto Centre earlier this year!

Steve, I agree completely with the red calipers clashing. I was thinking of either yellow or silver. How much do you think it will cost to have the calipers removed, shipped, have professionally painted, and re-installed? Where should I send them to have this done?
This car also has a black interior, which I favor with AR.
A number of other nice upgrades as well.
PPI scheduled for this weekend.

lthatch,

You can do what I did when I wanted yellow calipers... I bought a set of used Ruf brakes with enormous 15" rotors... but I already had the required 19" wheels.

Your signature doesn't show where you live. Chris Walrod on this forum is famous for baking folks calipers in his wife's oven. Not too pricey, as I recall, and Chris is a good guy.

I have never been a real big fan of Arena Red, but have seen some nice ones on this site. Atan888 had one that he sold last year and was perfect, I almost bought that one from him.

Default Arena Red

LT:

I have an Arena Red '96 coupe, and really like the colour. My local independent Porsche broker has told me that it's not as popular a colour as yellow, (Guards) red, midnight blue, or black, but that they do sell eventually.

Anyway, in todays' economy you want to make sure you get a good price.

Nice pics. If it's a good car (PPI pending with Chris Cervelli in Denver this weekend must pan out 100%), it's a good price. If not, I just threw away a day's pay.

lthatch, are you by chance looking at this car? If so, this car has been discussed several times here, and the general feedback was this car would be one to pass on. You can search for the old threads:
