Dear Bob

I would like to order a set of the hard pipes.

Could You please send me a PM with all data (for bank transfer etc. ) for shipment of the set to germany ?

I am very happy that finally there is a company offering these impotant upgrades (I personally drive 1.3 sustained boost and 1.5 to 1.6 in overboost - lost already 4 hoses on the passanger side)

Yours

Michael

Ziad,

the engine modifications have been made by SHK in Germany, in general they use sportec kits:

k24/"27" turbo chargers, welded heads, flame rings, "evo" wastegates, mechanical valve train, camshafts with greater timings, modified MAF, 2 fuel pumps, OEM injectors, 5bar FPR, and of course a custom tuned motronic (by gunther mandel at sportec)

the body work modifications are: narrow body, rain gutters delete, custom (techart) frontspoiler with RS splitters, OEM RS suspension.

The car dynoed 570 (manthey) to 600 (sportec) PS at the crankshaft and (driftbox-data with 0.71 6th gear) does 100 to 300 km between 24,5 and 25 seconds. Vmax is 346 kmh (on the autobahn).

I hope, the hard pipes will cure my hose "popp-off" issue, the last time a hose popped off I even had the breeze ct clamps on the hoses.

Yours

Michael

Are you using the stock conrods or have you installed after market ones? Are you also using stock injectors?

I wish you could post pictures of your car, the Manthey dyno chart, driftbox datalogs, weight, etc in a separate thread Sounds like you have a great car. SHK did single plug turbo engines usually, is this also single plug?

Jean,

I will do so in due course,

Yes it is single plug and 3.6 l displacement. The cars weight is 1360 (without fuel). There are still stock conrods inside.
At shk they do have even three customers with 700 hp (sportec-dyno) at the crankshaft, all three also have stock conrods inside. So far (to my knowledge) they didnt had issues with that.
At least my 570 to 600 ps engine, which has (in its current modification) well above 15000km has had no issues with conrods so far .

Being the tubes are aluminum, do they cause any additional heat/heat soak issues? I figure they'd get "hot" and stay that way.

The better a material is at dissipating heat the more able it is to absorb it. What matters is the temperature difference between the air inside the hose/pipe and the engine compartment air. I would guess that once moving the engine compartment air is cooler than compressed air at full boost. The aluminum pipes will heat soak just like the IC does when the car's standing still but both will cool off when the car starts moving.

Well, Bob sent me a pair maybe a month ago but they're still in the box around here somewhere.
