Jean,

I contacted the US distributor of Cargraphic and the front size for a 18X9 is ET47 ($950 USD each) and the rear in an 18X12 is $1200 USD each. They are calling Germany to confirm what the offset is for a normal widebody without the flares. The 11 inch rear offset is ET34 so I don't think it will be that much different.

I'd rather have the motorsports truthfully. I LOVE that little red BBS sticker on the lip But $5700+ vs $4300 is nice I'll wait to hear from both sides before pulling the trigger.

Now should I get a set in gold center or just leave the stock silver?

I will probably go silver just to be safe. I can always have the centers painted later.

Hopefully I hear back from these guys soon!

The BBS aluminum are amazing, no doubt about it. I like Gold (obviously) but they look too racer wannabe IMO. I am one of those, but not sure that you are too!

Jean,

I agree with you there Say do you run any kind of tire pressure monitoring system in your car? Would be nice to get some warning before the tire falls off the car. Also you could really see what your temps were doing while on track.

I don't think any of the generally available monitoring systems work adequately for track usage and to rely on the results to keep you from a catastropic failure. You really need a motorsports based one that interfaces with a data acqusition system via CAN.

That sounds expensive Geoffrey. I take it the nice little $300 unti from tirerack won't suffice for a weekend warrior like myself? They say +/- 1 psi accuracy.
Do you know of any motorsport grade kit that is out there? Don't know how serious I am about getting one but it seems like a good idea.

I can't say for sure about the $300 ones since I haven't used them, but they are more for environments where the pressures don't change quickly. Motorsports ones are in the 3-5k one for just the sensors, then you need the data acq unit.

Konstantin, here on RL, who is one of the top Supercup engineers working with Franz Konrad this year(congrats to him on the win this last week end in Barcelona BTW!) uses the old fashioned temperature probe for his testing and practice session and a hand digital gauge for the tire pressures. His temp probe is a (very) expensive one, but that is what they all use. In Supercup, it is about hundredths of a second, a slighlty bent door will make the difference between winning or being second due to aero balance..So they take this very seriously. Yet no one uses on board monitoring.

There are teams who like to use many devices, others who like the old fashion way, I doubt this will make anyone faster, there is so much left on the table by people like us that we'd better focus on our lines and when to accelerate

Craig does not run the Motorsports show in Georgia. I can get the BBS race wheels. Contact me and I'll get in touch with BBS for pricing.

Glad you're alright. That could have been a lot worse no doubt. I posted pics of the rims on my car showing the fitment a year or two back, should give you an idea. That was with only around -1.5f/2.0r camber instead of the -3 I'm running now. IIRC the fitment was quite close to the fenders and they did have to be rolled.
