Congrats Kevin. Sorry I have been out of the loop for some time. Busy with my E30 M3 project. Regarding Big Bird I gave Rob King @ SCARGO a call this pm and he said he should be done by March. Keeping my fingers crossed bro. Its almost 6 months for me and Im still waiting patiently.

Thanks guys. can't wait til Sat!

Dan - break in period according to RUF is 1500 miles (no overrevs). Hans told me to keep it under redline for 750 miles. Only mod in the near future would be side mirrors. I'll probably wait to paint the hood (a few chips) and get rid of the headlight washers and then paint the doors (which is required for the mirrors) all at once. Held off for the time being. Not sure what painting will do for resale, but I hate those washers and the mirrors would be pretty cool.

Mel - good to hear from you buddy! Did you ever pic up a set of big reds? I just sold mine to BrettB

CP - I'm in the east bay but work in Palo Alto. Will probably drive my car in one day next week and stop by to see the guys at Carlsen. I'm up for a drive anytime

Nicu - official numbers? I think they are 500 and 500, but people tell me RUF is very conservative and that actual numbers are closer to 520.

Alvin - that must be torture my man. And I thought 3 months was a long time! Your car is going to be amazing and worth the wait!

Thanks everyone for the comments. I'll post more pics when she arrives.

Best,
Kevin

Not wishing to detract from your beautiful creation one bit and we all know US cars have more hp ......but as I understand the situation from Ruf is they have two packages for the 993tt at this level.

The first is the TurboR (or is that RTurbo ?) which is the tried and tested 490PS package which Bill S has which has always performed seemingly beyond its advertised raw numbers. The engine dynos for these usually come out around 500 to 505PS DIN

The second package is a 520PS package which involves just bigger turbos.

There has never been a test on the Ruf 520 package (possibly a RLer may help in this regard at some stage in the future ) but the 490 is so well resolved and responsive with its perfectly matched components and smaller turbos that on road performance probably gives the edge to the 490 with the 520 only pulling away in very high speed acceleration......

Martin, you forget that you own a RUF optioned gt2!!! Don't think it gets better than that. Grass is always greener... :-)

Btw, just got a call from the driver today. Car will be delivered tomorrow!

No brother haven't gotten them yet. I had to hold off on my spring plans for the car. I know i'm going to kick myself one day for not buying your brakes Glad to hear you were able to sell them. If you are ever down in south Texas let me know. My brother Mike (SA Mike) and I could show you around. Your car is just so awesome!
