yes and no. With a fresh diff, the wheels will turn the same direction. Since these LSD's wear enough to lose preload, tires (when turned by hand, both off the ground) will spin the opposite direction despite having LSD.

Hello, just want to say that my car have the same symptons and have been wondering if a rebuild of the LSD is needed.
The car have 78.000 km on the odometer, and have been driving on differnet
trackdays here in Sweden. So would not be surprised if it`s gone !
With all the wheels in the air and the gearbox in neutral the rear wheels
turns in the opposite directions and that can`t be right .
Any ideas about updating the LSD if a repair is needed ?
Thanks.
/ Kurt

LSD is most likely shot. Guard makes much beefier components.

Is it possible that the 996 GT3-RS LSD could fit in the 993 TT ?
The best oil for the gearbox that you have used is ???
My car have now Mobile SHC 75W-90 LS in it and think it`s a little bit difficult to
shifts when could outside.

Yes the GT3 unit will work..

Please realize that the factory unit can be rebuilt with Motorsports components.

I use Swepco 201 and my box looked like new inside after 100K miles.

Easiest way to check is to jack the rear up, hold one wheel while a friend turns the other rear wheel...if there is no resistance the lsd plates are most likely shot.
Last year I had the diff plates replaced with motorsport components, they constantly update the part and the latest ones were 997 GT3 RS, fitted fine and there is a noticeable difference now the lsd is fully functioning again...
