Default UMW Stage 2 OVERBOOST

Well, I just finished installing Stage 2 from Kevin a few days ago. I have covered over 400 miles in the past 2 days to break-in the turbos and also to diagnose a small boost leak. I finally narrowed it down to a stripped intercooler bolt, which I fixed.

So, it was a cool 65 degrees tonight here in Jersey and I decided to take the car out for some full throttle runs. I was hitting peak boost at 1.4-1.5 bar!!! I hooked up two different boost gauges just to verify, at first I thought something was wrong. I shot an email to Kevin and sure enough the ecu was dialing in overboost due to perfect conditions. Or as he would say "the ecu was giving the green light."

This thing is friggin fast. This is honestly the best set of turbos and tuning I have had on any car. Thanks Kevin!

edit: Ecu dialed the boost back down to 1.2-1.3 bar the next day. Turned out my n75 valve was shot.

Congrats. Kevin is first class all the way and his turbos are second to none. My last setup was UMW stg2 on a 996TT and it was the best bang for the buck...period. I had lots of fun with those turbos and produced some 60-130 and 1/4mile times that were very strong. The only problem is when Kevin starts whispering in your ear...STG4...STG4...STG4. I couldnt resist and I consider myself a victim He made me do it.....

Thanks guys. I couldn't believe the numbers at first, so I had an electronic and an analog boost gauge running simultaneously and seperately just so I could verify. Initially I thought my boost gauge was wacked, but nope. I was getting consistant readings from both gauges all night long. It ran like a bat outta hell.

Kevin offered to let me borrow his driftbox, so 60-130 times are in the near future

I do plan to dyno the car. Unfortunately, I did not dyno the car before the upgrade so I won't really have any before an after. I will post my results.

1.5 bars is extreme on a stock engine.

As the ECU adapts, the boost will settle down.

Why does the programming allow the boost to hit that high. Seems like a bad thing waiting to happen on a stock bottom end right ?

A tired/faulty N75 valve will not be able to allow enough control pressure to open the wastegate doors. If the gates aren't open long enough the boost will creap. The ECU will adapt.. Within a few miles Jay should see programmed boost levels. If these levels continue, a new frequency valve will be installed.
