Much appreciated Jay! The car looks as awesome as it apparently performs. Kevin's stuff is second to none, and his customer service is superb. I know from personal experience. Job well done.

Jay...how did you fix your stripped i/c threads...I'm guessing your talking about 1 of the 4 that hold the i/c to the intake....you use a time-cert or what?

thanks.

Unfortunately there was no easy way out of this one. It was the long bolt hole that stripped. I had to weld up the hole then drill and tap it. A real PITA making sure no shavings get anywhere when drilling and tapping. I had to tape up everything on the throttle body...etc

Also, there are only three bolts that attach the intercooler to the throttle body.

Out of curiosity, why did you need to adjust the wastegates? Have you dyno's the car? I'm just about to pull the trigger on my UMW stage 2 kit (just waiting for my mechanic to give me a date he can take the old stuff off)

I actually started adjusting the wastegates because the boost was still to high. These turbo's light up very fast and are capable of 1.85 bar static according to Kevin. IF your wastegates are set too aggressive you will get too much overboost. Like in my case. I eventually decided to re-sync both my turbos, reset the computer, then backed off the adjustment on the wastegates 2 turns and now it's perfect. I am getting 1.2bar sustained boost in 4th-5th gear, sometimes 1.3bar on overboost and it is the smoothest and fastest 993tt I have ever driven.

Keep in mind, with all my tinckering with different n75 valves (had two bad ones) and wastegate adjustments to try to correct the problem, I needed to re-sync and start fresh. My guess is 99% of the time these steps are not needed by most people. I had some bad luck at first.

Oh I see.... The kit came ready to go but you tinkered with the gates when the actual problem was the N75 valve? I'm going to get Kevin to send me a maf and an N75 with my kit.

Precisely. When I re-sync'd the turbos with a new n75 the boost issues were fixed immediately.

RS ecu is long gone. Come to think of it, didn't you purchase the 430 ECU that I happened to mention about being on ebay a few years ago? You're not been forgiven yet

Does anyone know the Porsche part number of the N75 or frequency valve ?. Sorry for my ignorance but I guess there are obviously two. Would they differ for the GT2 Evo ?. I did speak to Porsche OPC parts department yesterday and he did not have a clue as to what I was talking about.
Having been fairly gentle with the GT2 for a couple of hundred miles, last weekend gave me the opportunity to nail it a few times. She is incredibly fast. The car is totally factory standard even down to the exhaust system. What I did notice was say coming off a roundabout in third, lowish rpm foot in floor, boost comes in and she flies. Can't tell you at what revs to busy looking at the road. But for argument sake lets say at 2750rpm she's on full boost, at 4250 to 5000rpm the power dips like you have backed off the accelerator a little and then comes back on full power all the way to 6400rpm. The car does not misfire or appear to have a rattle (engine detonation). Having talked to Phelix on private message, he kindly will lend me a DL1 box in the future and suggests it is the N75 valve causing the problem. Are they easy to fit. I need to get the boost pressure checked to make sure she's not overboosting. A few years back I raced a narrow bodied 3.2 carrera chassis with a 930 turbo engine, 1100kg and a dynoed 420bhp at 1 bar. I reckon to get the acceleration as the GT2 I would have had to wind it to 1.2 bar. That said it could just be that the GT2Evo camshafts really work very well. Anyway better to be safe than sorry as they say, thanks for your help, regards, Graeme

There's only one with a downstream T to split the pressure to the 2 turbos.

Part number is 993 605 119 00; UK cost about £40 plus VAT. Probably the same part for all 993tt variants.
