Default Any side effects when removing heating system?

Hi,
I'm planning to remove the heater blower system to save weight but I've noticed that when the engine is turned off, that blower also moves heat from engine by the mixing valve. In other words, it has two purposes..
So, is it harmful for engine if I remove that blower?
Should I leave that hole(which comes from engine cover) open ?
See pic Heater blower system
Thanks!

One side effect might be no heat.

good point
I forgot to mention that I don't need heating system because I use my car only in summer. I only need Air Con, but that heater removal does not effect for that or does it?

Wear shorts and a t-shirt - lose the condenser - you'll save lots more weight.

no side effects all the factory race cars did not have the blower fan. you get rid of it and put in a block off plate where it connected to the fan shroud and also on the area that the heat manifold sticks through the tin work.

fabspeed sells a kit to block off kit but we just made it for my car

That heater fan also runs on shut down on a hot day. It cycles to cool the motor when the engine is off.
I here mine running at times in the garage for up to one hour on and off on a hot day..
I would not take it off. How much weight can it save ?? Just eat one less Cheese Burger.

then why does porsche not use these on their factory race cars ? it doesn't do much at all. it runs a few minutes blowing air over the headers inside the heater boxing. It's bettter to let the car cool down while running, with your oil cooler fan on.

That heater blower weights 3.1kg but that aluminium heat collector tank above exhaust pipes weights a lot. I'll remove them all. Then weight saving is reasonable and not achieveable by just leaving few cheeseburgers off
But I don't have time to order that Fabspeed kit now because that job in going on. So, is it just better to close that hole(at fan shroud) or leave it open?
Maybe better to leave it open that when engine is not running, heat goes up through that hole, right?

close it up, you can't leave it open then no circulation will take place. just made a plate out of aluminum it's simple. should take no time to do
