Default diffrences between 96 and 97 TT

In the process of purchasing a 97 twin and was wondering, aside from a few astetic difrences are there any upgrades from the 96 cars?

As far as I know, there is no visual difference between years (you would never know by just looking) so I'm curious what differences you found to exist other than:

1- small round Interior light above ignition switch added for '97
2- oil return lines (turbo return lines) improved for '97
3- Main input shaft in transmission supposedly improved for '97

That's all I'm aware of.

Thanks for the input, On the upgraded stero system, the front speakers appear to be diffrent?

IIRC, Hoses to intercooler are different also.

If you're comparing a stock 1996 993tt with a stock 1997 993tt (not an S), I've never seen anything to indicate a 1997 model was faster than a 1996 model. ???

i thought 97 got rid of black and replaced with basalt

I have on of each right now. (The 96 is for sale.)
They are pretty much the same. The main thing is maintenance and condition. The differences from stock 96 to 97 are pretty meaningless, especially if you start modifying.

door panels were slightly differnt i believe but same black
