Default 993 GT2 tuning advice

Well in the next couple of weeks I am going to do the craziest thing I have ever done and buy a 993 GT2 in midnight blue. Beautiful car and the cost is near what I paid for my house some 15 years ago. But hey you only live once. The car is bog standard, pre evo and will look great in the garage next to the 964 3.6 turbo.
I know that the reality is that the standard 430bhp is not going to be anywhere near enough so I would like to pick your brains on how to achieve nearer the 550 to 600 bhp mark. Any advice would be most appreciated.
very best regards, Graeme

If it's a genuine GT2 I would leave it as is. I would buy a stock or modified 993TT and modify that. This is just my opinion. Do you have any pictures to share?

Yep it is a genuine GT2, pictures hopefully I will receive tomorrow, I do not want 4wd. I understand where you are coming from in leaving it factory original.

+1... you're gonna kill the value of the car. If you want the GT2-effect, buy a TT, disconnect the 4wd and go crazy on the mods... it'll cost you less as well...

I assume you're located outside the USA because of the opportunity to purchase a GT2. Just that alone makes us in the USA very jealous.

If this GT2 is coming to the USA, I say just leave it as is. Its going to be a rare puppy.

But if its outside the USA, I've always wondered how modified cars' values hold up. I still say leave it as is.

With the lightweight body and lack of AWD, the 430hp should be more than sufficient. Please don't modify the GT2, some of us are hoping to one day own a completely stock GT2 when they can be imported to North America (I believe it's 15 years for Canada).

if you want to do this, buy another 993tt engine, mod to your heart's content and keep the GT2 motor stored away in stock form

Not sure where you are from Graeme but there are a few guys in the UK who have tuned the GT2 though mainly for racing.

Have a search on www.pistonheads.co.uk and the forum on www.pcgb.co.uk

Go to RS-Tuning and ask them to build a GT2 Evo engine for you.

With that you are set for the rest of your live. Not exactly cheap though.

Thank you all for your feed back. I was thinking along the same lines that perhaps the most sensible option in the future would be to build another engine therefore keeping the car original. In truth I really have no idea as to how modding the existing motor would effect the resale value. That is important as I would not want to loose big bucks if for some unforseen reason I had to sell her in a hurry. I am no where near the financial league of it does not matter.
The car is completely factory original with a half cage clad in dark blue leather, leather bucket seat and blue harnesses. God that fat **** looks lovely. Let you know how it pans out. The chap will sell the car but at his price only non negotiable. Rare air cooled cars seem to have gone through the roof.
cheers Graeme

Wow that is the motherload of Porsches! Congrats, if they would sell that in the USA, I would be first in line.

That is one menacing looking GT2. I wish I could get a car like that.
