993 Turbo Value
Hi,
I'm looking to buy a 993 turbo. How much is a really nice 37,000 mile silver car worth in everybody's opinion. What is a good deal? Any input would help me.
Thanks,
B

Run a search. This has been covered a ton.
Value really depends on condition etc. Costs can be very high on one of these cars. Just because it is XX year with ZZ miles does not directly result in YY value.

Like Tim said, many variables. Be sure and get a good PPI with compression test, make sure the 30k svc was done($$$), etc. If it checks out could be worth 70's. One here with 24k miles, ok ppi went for 72k, another with 58k went for 54k, so it can really vary. Just be sure you put some coin away for future repairs, as they can be pricey.

Mike,
A heartily agree with Tom F. $74k seems like a fair price for a super low mile car, but having paid the premium, will you be reluctant to drive and enjoy it? Rufus is still a baby, with only 109k miles.

1 million dollars and I'll sell you mine
Seriously though, I would say between $60k and $70k depending on the year of the silver 993TT with 37,000 miles on it that you mention. I got mine for what I thought was a good price, but dumped $3,500.00 after one year on shocks and a couple other minor things. Hopefully another 10 years before I need shocks again. After doing that, and adding it to my purchase price, I figure the car was bought at the right price.
Tires are next and they range from 800 to 1200 depending on brand.
You need to have some reserves available with these cars.
Good luck!

Low mile cars def command a premium, problem is, then you don't want to drive them and deminish their value. As somebody mentioned, find a medium milage car with a decent ppi and go.
Three yrs ago a guy I know bought a '97 garage queen with 1200 miles, he put almost 50k on it to date. Lost value, probably, but at least he's enjoying the car. Don't buy cars as an investment, never works out.

Mike...............
Regardless of your friendship do a full PPI. Unless you have money to throw away. My good friend who is a PCar tech says the issues they see with low miles non driven TT's is the secondary air injection system. Not cheap to fix. Neither is a top end or turbos or clutch or windshield etc.......
Do a Compression and leak down. Also have the clutch looked at. My car passed PPI but cost me 10k in 8 months and 7k miles of ownership.

What Jammin said...
But, I do agree with you! Get the car. No stories is piece of mind. I paid 86k for mine with 8k miles on it 5 years ago. Today it has 35k miles. As an aside, I wanted a white one too but couldn't find one. I'd say grab it.
Good luck,
Bill
