why does the cargraphuic lose you power if it is larger and capable or more air flow?

Because it does not cool the hot air as well as the stock item - theories and techno babble do not always translate into fact.

Porsche 993 Turbo uprated intercooler by Schweizer Raceparts - BRAND NEW

Don't waste your monies on this IC.. The Schweizer core is horrible. It is a tube and fin with a very poor extrusion... The tubes extend 3/16" past the header causing turbulence. This IC is actually a step backward in performance compared to the stock unit..

unfortunately mine is cargraphic but it seems that everyone on this forum thinks i should get rid of it. with my stage 2 fvd setup do you think it makes sense to seek out a stock unit to replace the one i have on there kevin?

Test it for yourself, its not difficult........cruise at an "on boost" speed say 100mph and note (through a hammer) the inlet temperature at the steady speed. Swap intercoolers and do the same thing. As long as you do it on the same day with the same conditions you will see which one cools best...... My test made the stock one 5% better at cooling than the TTP/Cargraphic unit. I did what you suggest and swapped out the Cargraphic back to the stock unit

I am running the Cargraphic but I also have the factory stock IC. The opportunity in SoCal without being on a race track to test both IC's at 100 MPH is a difficult task to say the least. My car seems to run great with the Cargraphic IC and I might change it out if I were doing 60-130mph runs.

The question is, without spending $20k, is there a better than stock IC out there? How are the Andial, Mode, Protomotive IC"S? Are they better than the Cargraphic?

Cargraphic "works" fine - just not as well as stock
takes about $16K for the latest bolt on Secan cored I/C which is represented as maintaining inlet temp within 25DegC of ambient - I haven't formerly tested it since it is so obvious by looking at my inlet temp gauge just how good this unit is when on the move.

I know Kevin is interested in developing an IC for the 993tt. If enough of us ponied up he could do the development and get us an IC that worked w/o the Secan cost.
