What do we think of this rear spoiler ?
The spoiler below is the one done by Gemballa as I recall for the original 993 based Avalanche.
I quite like it as it is reasonably subtle (not over wide and no big intakes) and looks like it could play the role of being aerodynamic for top speed runs (with the adjustable wing set level) yet be set up to give decent downforce for stability/corners.
I'd love other owners opinions

I actually like it, even tho it may be a bit "half-pregnant" . I'm not ready to go to a full scale RS/GT2 tail, but wouldn't mind a bit of extra downforce out back. Is this a one-off or generally available?

How much does it weigh? Spoke w/ Mike Shaw today, his gt2 wing is 2-3# heavier than stock at around 25-30#. Try www.mashaw.net for some nice pix.

They are all heavy wings with the extra wing element. Even in CF, they sort of tip the scales. I just got LUCKY with that wing I had. 10ish lbs painted with the grille was stupid light. I used a single OLD hood shock I took off a car as it need nothing to open.

Gemballa? - I guess it was never designed nor tested to give any aerodynamic advantage.
Although it will be very difficult for Mr. Gemballa to see the top of the wing, it is one of the less ugly Gemballa parts.

TB,
Many of the spoiler designs are really ineffective, especially some of the knock offs. Setting the wing flat on a poorly designed wing will cause more drag and I'm betting thats not what your looking for.
If you want down force, a factory porsche GT2 wing will produce 90lbs of weight at 6 degrees at 120 mph. I haven't calculated stock 993tt wing as it appears to only to offset the lift, I'm guessing to about 130 mph. The GT2 wing will shave 4-6 mph off your speed at 150 becasue of drag but it helps sooo much in high speed corners.
The Gemballa wing pictured has no side end plates above the horizontal blade making it a nice looking, inefficient (I'm being kind) wing. I doubt the designer of this wing had any aeronautical training.
Even in a level position this wing will have too much drag as its located in a high turbulance area and there is no direction of airflow over the wing.
Why go half way, just put the 60" evo banana wing on and be done with it.
