boost sensor replaced 0.0bar?

Just swapped out a boost sender, after the gauge was reporting 0.0 and 0.2 bar on and off, and the display is reading 0.0 pretty much all the time, passenger saw it read 3.0 bar under full acceleration, but that can't be right!

Any tips? Do I need to disconnect the battery to reset the ecu or anything? Would really like to see it working.

regards

Could this be an air leak? Car seems to be ticking over at slightly lower rpm? I have visually checked the intercooler hoses and they are on correctly. But the car feels as if it isn't producing any boost. Digital readout stuck at 0.0, and I have disconnected the battery to reset the ECU.

Should I have used new o rings on the intercooler/throtle body join? Will be a PITA as I wished the garage parts store had said that I needed them as I told them what I was doing when ordering the boost sensor!

Could be the orings. Did you replace the metal seal ring under the boost sensor? Also could have disturbed connections in the vicinity of the boost sensor, BOV hoses etc. Did the sensor on the intercooler get reconnected?

I doubt its the oring if you haven't pinched it.. But since you were low in boost prior to the sensor install. I'd be looking for a split hose.. Or as Don mentioned, Bypass Valve failure.. But you would have to be boosting near 1 bar to shread the factory BOV..

You need to look at all the hoses.. Check your pressure hoses at your turbochargers.

Yes I did replace the crush washer, and I've been over the electrical connections, they all seem to be reconnected.

Was pretty careful with the o rings and they looked good, and were seated correctly. The car had plenty of boost prior to the sensor swap, it was just the display in the rev counter that was erratic. I guess I'll have to strip it down again!

Ordered new o rings from dealer, checked the hoses etc and all looks good, will report back once I have re installed everything.

All back together with new o rings and correctly torqued down to 30 n/m, so I now have boost, but the display in the rev counter is still reading 0.0bar and doesn't move? Tried flooring the car in third gear, all the way up to 6000rpm, could feel the turbos etc but no change in the reading on the display.

Whats' the deal? Duff sensor?

Prior to the sensor swap I was getting the erratic 0.2 to 0.0 reading so the connection must be there.

Found this post: https://rennlist.com/forums/993-turbo-forum/30881-confused-by-5-to-6-bar.html not conclusive though.

I can't quite remember, was there more than one way to install the connector on the sensor?

Just a spade connector.....think it may be time to get it into a dealer, I made sure the sender was in way tight but access is pretty tight, so couldn't get a torque setting on it.

Think I may take it in and get the upgraded hoses, new clamps, and new intercooler bolts done. They can sort out the sender as part of the job. This has taken way too much time, the sender cost £75 plus tax, taken a couple of hours taking things on and off, and I'm still no better off. I'll be well pissed if it turns out to be a bad boost sender, but can't think what else it could be.

Checked the hoses and they are well located on the intercooler, pushed on as far as they will go, and the metal ring clamps are gripping correctly. The car has a 430bhp factory kit on it and I keep running out of road locally trying to test the boost.

Might be worth a quick check to ensure the spade connector is making a good solid contact with the blade on the sensor. The spade connector might need gentle "crushing" to ensure a solid vibration resistant connection.
