Default Does anyone use these tips on their 993tt?

These look interesting (since it's so hard for me to find factory Wide Oval tips) from our friend Gert at Carnewal.

Any pics of these installed?

these are OEM tips from the WLS II (stage II) from Porsche. (450hp).
They are standard on most later 993 tt with the stage II.

Quite expensive I guess

Ah, thank you. They do look like the Turbo S tips, I suppose. I'm not sure that I like the look of the twin pipes in the factory oval cutout in the rear bumper. It's almost like trying to stuff two hotdogs into your mouth at one time (no reference to any **** there).

Does anyone know how they're fitted to the mufflers? They don't seem to use the same ring seals as normal tips. Do the exit pipes from the mufflers need to be shortened?

Last time I was at Andial they had a big box full of polished factory tips. They are still in the parts business I believe.

Called Andial and they don't have any of the wide ovals in stock. Oh well, it was worth a try.

They do look good on a car in my opinion and they are different to the usual oval.....I wonder if there is a fitting kit supplied with them thats not shown in the pic to allow you to mate them to the original silencers...?

You can see these installed in the 97 Turbo S Pic's thread in this forum.

I had them on my TT.
It came with the factory 450hp kit (XLB Option Code for twin-tip exhaust).

To me it looked like they where fitted to the normal exhaust. Though I suggest to take a closer look in PET, cause I don't remember exactly.

To install them you have to cut your stock mufflers. If you look at the picture you will see that it is just a compression clamp vs the conventional ball/clamp.

I have these tips on my car. I had the 450hp kit fitted and they look fantastic. The ones shown on the black 993tt in this thread don't look like they are fitted properly. Mine have a very small gap between the top of the tips and the cut-out in the bumper. The ones on the black car are hanging too low.

I'll try and get some pics of tha back of my car but that'll have to wait a couple of weeks.

There was no modification necessary to fit them and I have standart mufflers (but 200 cell cats).
