Default Who said you couldn't drive the TT 2wd in snow

Well, I was out at a client site today and fully expected to be back all the way across town BEFORE the snow flew.

As any of you guys in computers know, the best layed plans of Geeks and Men are often fragile.

So at 8pm I was leaving there for the ol homestead...................

The 2wd 1997 Porsche Twin Turbo did fine at 30mph and below.

I could not believe all the looks I was getting from people.....and more than one was snapping pictures.

She is home safe and sound.........19in rims and all

Any idea of what it would have been like at something north of 30 mph?

Tim, nice work. So you were on your summer tires? Nerve wracking I am sure. I am wanting to get some winter wheels/tires for this winter as I am going to drive the TT through the winter I think. Any recommnedations on tires and size?

The car di areally well considering. It took finesse with the throttle etc. And the 4WD would have been great. I bet 18in snows would do just fine. Just try to stay off the power

Sorry Tim, I must have missed that day in school, what's the story about your '97 2WD TT?

OK so you're stuck having to get your TT home in the snow, I can understand that predicament - but at what point do you decide this is so easy I'm going to snap a few shots with the camera. Any chance you were on the phone and drinking coffee too?

Ah that is nothing. I remember when I broke my wrist and had a cast on up to my shoulder on the right arm so I couldnt shift. I would steer with my knee and reach through to shift with the other hand. Then the phone would ring so you would have a phone being held by your left shoulder/cheek and reaching through to shift while in the city traffic. Not that I am saying this wasnt stupid, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do to get back home....go get em' Tim!
