with only 290 horses he wont touch 11's....not with that weight... <img src="graemlins/c.gif" border="0" alt="[ouch]" />

is that weight wet??

if so id imagine upper 12s would be his ETs...

with that weight id say hed need at least 350 to comfortably hit 11s....

however if the engine was built and he was spraying a wet shot on top of that....

well you also have to look at traction and how long he is in the powerband, it's possible, it may not be true, but it's possible.

that weight is also most likely wet

Can one of the moderators kindly get rid of this post. I find the title offensive and it is now attracting posts from kids with souped up hondas

I agree that this thread is probably used up until we beat (or get beaten) by a Honda on the street or track!

Lucky we don't have the BMW and Toyota discussions they have on the 996TT forum!

Let's push this one to the bottom with some new posts!

Well, I must say that I was expecting this outcome on this topic.
I guess I'm a kid at 35,, who like cars, fun cars fast cars. If it is a Honda,Porsche,Mercedes or what ever, does not matter.
Guess it was stupid just to reply at all.
Thank you

well...here's my story, I had this "kid" (28 yrs old) dying to race me (97 993tt aproc 475 hp). He put about 20 K into his engine alone!1 Some kind of "fast and the furious" twin turbo mitusbishi w/ nitrous. I finally agreed, and mind you his car was fast....but not fast enough! I blew by him @ the 160mph mark on a long stretch of highway (interstate 84 in NY). All of a sudden as i looked in my rearview I saw smoke comin from his car,I thought "****' he has a flat, then a huge bellow of smoke....and you guessed it....parts flyin everywhere!!! He GRENADED that engine!! I felt so bad...at first, but heh,you can't come out and play w/ the big dogs if your small time. He should of saved his money and bought a modded 930!!!

Assuming perfect traction, 12.1sec ET is possible if he was making 290whp and the car is 2600 pounds with him in it.

290whp all motor is very very difficult on a B series motor, the highest I've seen is 250whp on a fully built B series motor. And then there is the problem with having all that power on a FWD car!

My Civic only makes 260whp, and I have trouble with traction until 3rd gear. This is with an aftermarket Quaife LSD, but on street tires.

So yes, a Civic can outrun a 993tt in the 1320, but in the end, it is still a Civic.

Hey PHD, don't you mean bring a banker & a lawyer and an escrow agreement? Or do you race for cash these days? By the way if high 11's are what you run, be glad you left George alone.

Carlos,
Where have you been man??!!! Read the post. I sold my 79 Twin 930 a year ago and it was a hell of a lot lower than 11s in the 1/4. The newest version is a 97 Twin which is nothing what my 79 was. Don't sweat it though, the new owner can't even drive it on the track and is afraid of it on the street. I tip my hat to George in the 97. My 97 is fast, but no IA Monster. BTW I have always raced for cash, you know MY rules....1000 cash in the street anything else is done my way or no way. Still the same as it was last year.

You have to be kidding!?!?!?! Civic v. 993TT? Who cares? Civic owners cannot even drive! Riceburners need to stay on their sides of the net and let us true sportscar people stay on ours.

Very close minded, I wish this thread would die but stupid remarks like this should not be the last entry in a thread.

Are you a little stuck up or what?

I think my 914-6 can whip the civics *** with 225hp and 215ft-lb torque at-the-rear-wheels weighing in at 2200lbs.
