Brian - If you are trying to loose some weight in the car and just want to remove the rear seat backs, belts etc, then it still looks fine. All you will have left is the cushion (which weighs maybe a pound). This is not bad as removing it then requires ungluing it, and then you are left with an uncarpeted spot.
