Red face Fabspeed Exhausts for 993TT

Does anyone have these? I believe there are two systems offered by Joe - the straight pipes off the cats with no mufflers, and a muffler replacement system. I am interested in noice issues predominantly. We have Fabspeed Maxflo mufflers on our 993 and my wife dislikes the mild resonance between 2500 - 3000 RPM. But, we both love the look of them. Can anyone compare the sound of the 993 fabspeed mufflers to the 2 fabspeed systems for the 993TT?

Joe - if you are out there, do you just sell the tips for the 993TT (to be used on my current mufflers)? If so, what do they cost? I am a rennlist and PCA member. You can e-mail me offline if you like. Thanks.

Hi Bill
on your 993TT we have sold hundreds of muffler bypass pipes worldwide. Very sporty and the 993TT sounds like a "chris Craft boat" with these pipes when started cold. This personally is the only exhaust I would use on my 993TT.

The quiter system is a set of mufflers that allow stock tips to be bolted on. A set of German tips is $350. Let me know and we have all these parts in stock.

Really? That is saying a lot coming from the seller of these exhausts. <img src="graemlins/a_smil17.gif" border="0" alt="[blabla]" /> <img src="graemlins/a_smil17.gif" border="0" alt="[blabla]" /> <img src="graemlins/a_smil17.gif" border="0" alt="[blabla]" /> <img src="graemlins/a_smil17.gif" border="0" alt="[blabla]" />

Q - very slick. I presume that is with Joe's bypass pipes? Do you find these to be really loud or are they fairly mild? I guess I could just remove my mufflers and take a listen to get an idea of what I would be getting in to.

Bill, et al:

I installed the Fabspeed muffler bypass tips and was impressed with the sound (ChrisCraft is correct when idling which you may find good or bad - opinions are mixed). The sound at speed was much better - opinions were not mixed. The problem I had was that my neighbors objected strongly to the sound - especially on Sunday am.
So, I returned to the stock exhaust with slightly modified mufflers - they are just a bit louder than stock. Maybe 5db or so.
The Fabspeed bypass solution is simple and very cost effective but not quiet enough for my neighborhood.
Of course, I could always move

No, they are not bypass pipes, they are re-fabricated mufflers.
....although I think there would not be too much difference in volume given the design of them.

thanks Jason

I looked everywhere for some clear turning indicator lenses (& still looking)

In sheer frustration, I had a spraypainter layup a 50% coat of silver paint over the yellow lenses.
The results surprised everyone. Looks great, & visibility is still exceptionally good.
