Hi SRF - I've had the best luck with Du Pont Registry, Hemmings, the Rennlist classifieds (of course) and Porsche Market Letter. Tell us a bit about your car, why don't you? (Good luck, too....)

Here's a pic: http://www.911turbo.com/newclub/phot...id=Porsche.jpg
Hope this link comes through. Some of the options/addons: M030 (ROW) Suspension, White Gauges, Aluminum Trim package, Motor Sound Package, Rear Seat delete, Audiophile Stereo (stealth installation), Strut Brace, Brake Upgrade Kit (14" Brembos - F50), Adjustable Sway Bars, more. Around 16,000 miles asking $95,000.

Beautiful car and the price sounds very reasonable.
Did you chrome those wheels yourself? I've had nothing but problems with my chrome wheels and am thinking of going back to the polished wheels. First, chroming reduces the strength tremendously, second, they messed up during the chroming process and I have some "debris" inside one of my hollow spokes!
Good luck in selling your car. What you are planning to get to replace your TT?

Sorry for the delay. No, the wheels were chromed by the dealer for the original owner upon pickup. Have had no problems with them whatsoever. Somebody once asked me if I had problems with the bead on the rim - I guess if chrome is on the bead, it will eventually corrode and cause a slow leak, but a good shop should grind any off after the plating process.
Have a MB and a Lexus right now, so I'm going to stay with those, but as we are moving out of state soon, had to get rid of the toy first.

srf:
I know of four consignment shops in the SF Bay Area dealing in Porsches and collector cars:
in SF, "Cars Dawidiak" (not sure on the spelling, they're one block west of
Van Ness, near the Chev and Mercedes dealerships, I can't remember the cross
street or their URL)
Palo Alto, "Stanford European" http://www.stanfordeuropean.com/
Mountain View, "California Motorsport" http://www.calmotorsport.com/
San Jose, www.roadsportsales.com
There's another dealer in San Jose that does collector cars, I know where they are, but I can't remember their name, something like "toy shop" ...
... they all carry late model and collector cars, their inventory seems very
static especially in the current economic doldrums (the same cars are there for months) and while they appear quite
responsible about caring for their consignments, I'd still be concerned
about how the car is treated especially when you're not in the vicinity to
keep a check on them.
Personally, I've had best results simply by running an ad in the SF
Chronicle and the SJ Mercury with a carefully worded four or five lines.
You could also try advertising (free) in the "Porsche Market Letter"
(pmletter.com) which is mailed out every month to a fairly large paid
subscriber list. I'm addicted to PML ... anyone that enjoys Rennlist should look it over (no, I'm in no way associated with them, other than as a subscriber)
I'd tried dupontregistry.com but it was expensive and didn't get a call
except from other trader style magazines wanting me to advertise in their
paper and various dealerships that offered me a very (insulting) low book price.
Rennlist is better for buyers than sellers because of the competition --
many of the advertised prices there are incredibly low (in my opinion) and
there is a lot of choice. I think you should still run an ad there, but it
will probably draw the bargain hunters (...ah...like me...)
I've found that the on-line sites tend to generate a ton of email and phone
calls, which is a pain and doesn't lead to a real buyer, you're just getting
a lot of people that want to chat about Porsches.
There's also a site, Porsche Classifieds Digest http://www.porsche-classifieds.com/ which is pretty cool and might point you to a classifieds that you could use to get your ad in their digest.
There's also 996tt.com
Maybe folks could put forward other sites or services? Maybe there's a faq on selling Turbos etc somewhere, but I haven't found it.
Cheers,
Adam
