Looking for a 993TT in Hong Kong
Hi guys, greetings from Hong Kong
I have been reading the postings on this forum with great interest. I realize that most of you are in the US/Europe and probably won't care, but you never know..
It's now 2 years that I have moved to Hong Kong from London and have been looking for "THE" 993 TT but, so far, no luck.
To date, I have seen 12 cars, tried 7 of them, some ok, some very bad. 993 TTs over here tend to have few miles but most of them have had a lot of (bad) owners and don't have a consistent service history.
I am looking for a 96/97 model either Silver (whether Artic or Polar) Blue or Black with black interior AND Sport-Seats.
If you know of anyone in Hong Kong with such car for sale, please let me know
Ciao,
David

I think there's another rennlister here from Hong Kong.
But out of curiosity, where would you drive your TT in Hong Kong... I've been there several times and there isn't a lot of open road around..

David,
if you are interested, i have a car for sale in London. It has an impecable history but no one to drive it.
It is a very very special car
it is a 930 cab
built by RS and Ruf in germany... low low miles and will outrun a 993tt anytime...
not my CTR but a stock car for sure.
complete with the factory slant nose...
recently given a new 2k coat of paint from RS.
Atheunticity can be verified with Aloi Ruf
see it and i promise you will fall in love with it!!

Thanks for the responses so far. Superyellowfly, I have been looking at importing a car. I appreciate your offer but buying a car in the UK to then import it in Hong Kong is quite tricky.
I would basically have to own it for 6 months in the UK before being able to import it over here to avoid a 50%(!) import duty...so think that I'll have to pass I'm afraid.
Any clearer idea about the other lister from Hong Kong? Thxs guys

I don't know if you have looked at the above web site or not? Also there was a Black 993TT with an expat owner advertised on Asiaxpat last week.
Good Luck!

Thanks a lot 9one1
I have actually driven that car. Unfortunately it was in very disappointing condition, particularly given the low mileage (Felt like it had 55,000km on the clock, not 15,000...)
As far as the black 993tt advertised on AsiaXpat, I did call the seller, the very same day the ad was posted but was told the car had already been sold Better luck next time!

David,
Sorry I didnt get a chnace to talk to anyone today. I was running late for the start and had to cut the drive short for a family event.
I know you are looking for a 993 but I thought it might be worth mentioning that there is a late 964 Turbo in silver for sale. Check with Mr Wong at Carrera Motorsports. Its in as new condition with only 20,000 on the clock I believe. the owner has several p-cars. This one still smells new inside - truely a beautiful example, albeit a 964.
Sorry I couldnt help you on this occasion but I will keep my ears open for anything in the 993 line.
Jeff,
New Territories rocks for p-cars. Especially roads like Route Twisk and Bridespool (Tei Mei Tuk) at 4am. On the island, the road to Big Wave Bay is pretty exciting with all the car clubs on Friday nights and Sunday mornings.
No chance of a track in HK I think, although there have been rumours. The old airport would have been perfect!
Good F1 standard track at Zhuhai which is only a 2hr drive from HK. Very popular for weekend track events. PCHK runs a few every year.
Cheers

Hi GT9111, I have seen & driven that car. I like the Glacier White exterior, but the Red (burgundy) leather interior just does not go with it.. I have passed on it!

No I have not. I have seen most of the cars that are for sale but haven't found "the one" yet. If you know of any good car for sale please let me know! I am willing to pay the market price for a good car.

Dont know if you have contacted Mr Wong at Carrera Motorsports yet, but I know he found one for a guy I just met today, in the last week.
He knew where the car was, how much work had been done to it and arranged to get it back from the dealer for a private sale.
The car had only done 30,000km and was in very nice condition.
Another guy I know just bought an immaculate 964 Turbo thru Mr Wong. This car had hardly been driven and smelt new inside.
Anyhow they're both sold...my point was...please check with Mr Wong if you havent already, I'd be surprised if he couldnt locate something for you. Mind you I know three other people looking for similar cars presently.
Hope the Porsche gods send one your way soon.
Cheers
