Here's the results from an AP-22 accelerometer on a Ruf Turbo R from 0-120 MPH. Started at 2500 RPM with an easy slip-clutch launch, shifted at 6800. This is the first time I tested the car from 0 MPH:

Thanks for the post. If you don't mind me asking how much did it cost you total to get the Ruf conversion? I'm thinking of doing it but debating whether to ship to car to Ruf or having it done locally. If you don't want to divulge the cost on the board, please e mail me the rough breakdown. Thanks in advance. All this cold weather got me thinking about what I could do for the car while it sits awaiting the warm and salt free Michigan weather.

Good work thanks for sharing. If you had managed an optimal start and reached 60 in 3.7secs (which is what the magazines managed on a stock tt) then you would be hitting 100mph in under 8 seconds -that is fast.
Can you tell me how and where you have attached the meter to the car. Now my engine is run in, and the temperatures are nice and low, I will do some runs <img border="0" alt="[burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />

I agree about the 0-60. An editor at Road and Track Magazine told me they got 0-60 in 3.3 seconds. However, I've never seen this number published for a Ruf Turbo R.

I mounted the AP-22 on the floor of the glove-box, butted-up against the rear wall, and held in place with the 2" Scotch long-mask tape. I think the Scotch tape will also hold it well to the high point of the dash above the gauges. You might also try mounting to the open glove-box cover back. It's tough to find a flat surface to mount without damaging the finish. Thanks again for your recommendation on the AP-22. It's a fine piece of equipment.

I have an AP22 as well and have managed a 3.99 sec to 60 in a standard car and I actually felt there was a bit more to come but didnt really feel like unleashing the type of brutality needed to achieve it.

TB the AP22 doesnt attach to the car at all its just an accelerometer, I think you are in the northwest somewhere, as am I, so if you would like a borrow let me know.

Just kidding, for "attached" read "secured" .Thanks for the offer, I have one and I was just asking Bill S where he "attaches" his because with over 1G of acceleration it needs to be pretty secure.

Sorry I misinterpreted your post. I struggled to get a good point too, even with the sticky things I felt the wobble might corrupt the reading. I settled for a passenger pressing it down and holding it firm, so there was also a little bit of extra weight in the run. How accurate do you think these are ? I managed to get over 1g ( lateral ) on the M60 exit to the M56 ( Princes Parkway ) if you know that, reckless yes but I just had to know. I dont think that figure is to be trusted though.

Most on ramps and exit ramps are banked which allow significantly more grip.

I have the new G-Tech Pro Competition and recorded the following times on my 993tt:

0-60 3.9 secs
1/4 mile 12.17 @126.2 mph

The tires were cold and had alot of pressure in them, so the launch was alot of wheelspin in first gear, even leaving at 2000 rpm. With hot tires and less pressure, I'm sure I could leave at 3000-4000 rpm and get in the 3.7 range. The trap speed seemed a bit high to me, but the car is slightly modified and putting out about 430 hp.

Dan,

Can you download your time, speed, distance and G from the G-Tech to post here in 10 MPH increments from 0 to 120 MPH? This makes it easier to compare (I don't know if the G-Tech could do that). Your 126.2 MPH does seem high for your "slight" mods.

That does look high for 430hp - it looks like you 0-200kph (124mph) would be about 12 seconds - that usually takes in excess of 500hp for our cars weighing over 1500kg. Techart claim 0-200kph in 12 secs for their 700hp 996 based GT street !!
