Talking 1/18 scale diecast models of our cars

I getting nuttier and nuttier. I found some pretty nice 1/18 scale diecast models of our 993 Turbos. They come in Arena Red, Black, Silver, and I think Yellow. They are out of production, but can be found on eBay. They were made by UT, and normally sell for about $30.

Some of you are as crazy as me, so go get 'em! I now have two Arena Red (with Gray interior) models, I am somewhat embarrassed to admit.

I got the UT model of the silver 993 turbo and I love it!

It's a bit strange to get a model when I've got the real thing, but hey, who cares??

There are 2 blacks, one arena red and one silver last time I looked on eBay. Search for:

UT Porsche 18 turbo

Although that is a pretty restrictive search. Anyway, give it a shot.

I've got a black one too. Great model. I had the model before I got the car. Knowing that someday I'd get a real one!

Have the red one. Given to me by an ex girlfriend. It's gorgeous and if truth be told gave me that extra push to get the real thing. When she gave it to me I was driving a Janspeed Sierra XR4I (Merkur XR4TI to you Americans but with a 2.8 V6 breathed on by Janspeed Engineering in the UK) She's left, the model stayed and I finally got the car....

cheers,
Kris

Seljan,

Happy to help. I now have THREE arena red TT models, 2 are UT, one is another brand, and I forget what it is. They are similar but not identical. The UT model is NOT a wide-body, but the other one is. The UT is actually a much nicer model, despite this. One interesting note... the UT model that you are getting seems to have the red calipers. Both of my UT models have no calipers, and one of those models is in a new, sealed box! Hmmm....

Let me know what you think of it when it arrives. I really like having those models on my desk.

My new car arrived today! and its beautiful. It has the same gray interior as my car.I took it out in the sunlight to see how accurate the arena red is.Its as if it was painted by Porsche!

I'm happy to know that there are other nitwits out there. My office at home has become a 993 "shrine". Oops, time to go and light a candle.

Model.........Schmodel......... why don't you put something more unique on your desk. How about an exhaust value with 49,000 miles from your 993TT. It only cost me $9000(cost of valve job). It makes a great paperweight. It's bigger brother is a valve from a Boeing B17 Flying Fortress. Big and heavy enough to hold your paper down in a Gale. I also have a 993TT camshaft which is good to hold papers down on your desk in a Force 10 Hurricane.
