Can I make a suggestion to just get the original Porsche monoball setup.. They really aren't that expensive. And the parts are US available. You can even lube the monoballs to reduce the wear factor.

Which monoballs are you talking about? The shock upper monoballs or the ERP suspension arms?

Can someone kindly explain what the specific benefits of having the monoballs setup. Does it have any use for the streets.

no benefit on street.

monoball/heim joints are esentially metal to metal contact with a tad of teflon here and there. ppl use them when they have very stiff suspension parts on track/race car. when the suspension parts are so stiff, the first thing that gets pushed/moved are the rubberish bushings. as the bushings deflect, suspension geometry change somewhat unpredicatably, thus you can't really benefit fully from the stiffened suspension. so to reap all the benefits of motons, leda, jrz and the like, ppl move to monoball stuff.

also, when you first insall them, they are silent. but if you keep driving them on the streets, all the bumps you put them through will wear them out, after 15-20k miles they losen up and get very rattly and noise.

i have them on my track car, but i dont have a trailer, i drive it to the track. after 6000 trackmiles and 15000 street miles, it's hell noisy. but the car does feel very precise on track.

so it's a compromise.

I have ERP monoballs on my street car. It handles better, has a more connected feel and is a heck of a lot easier to do the alignment.
