to lube or not to lube spark plug threads
in the process of putting the spark plugs back in and weighing the option to treat the threads with something or not. i had always been told not to use motor oil on the threads, but am reading a lot of people do this. anti-seize compound seems to be the more logical choice, but again, never used anything on past cars.
any advice would be appreciated as always.

John, the 993TT cylinder head is now worth roughly $1,800 each.. It's not worth the risk. Just put a little dab of paste on the threads.. A little will get you along way.

From what I've read:
Pro: lubrication help spark plug from seizing and/or marring threads on removal.
Con: reduced electrical grounding which may affect performance at high rpm's
What I do: place a little bit of antiseize with a toothpick on 1/2 of the top of the threads. In this way, there is some lube on the upper top of sp. plug threads which will help resist complete seizure, yet metal to metal contact on the bottom 1/2 threads.
