Thanks for all the replies.

You may be right Phelix, just I thought it odd that 2 cars suffered failures. Although 993 GT2's do these speeds daily on the Autobahn I assume, so the front splitter should be good for 200 +?

Fascinating stuff all this high speed aerodynamics and no doubt a bit of a black art without access to serious windtunnels.
I was always fascinated with the car below which was based on a 964, has 993 bodywork with a strosek front spoiler and 993tt rear spoiler, special bonnet (hood) mating up to special sloped windsreen to aid drag. This is the car which with its 533PS (same as MODs) managed 221mph
Makes you think about how intrinsically right these 993s are for ultra high speed use.

This is one interesting car. What is more important than its top speed are the outrageous acceleration numbers.


P.S. TB993TT do I get my paycheck?
