Default Chiptune my 993tt with powerkit -97?

I will "chiptune" my ECU, the problem seems to be when you got the 450 HK powerkit, not many companys have a chip for it. I will also mount decat or muffler bypass pipes. Anyone know where to go?

Thanks!

Martin:

The factory 450 HP Power Kit is comprised of a different ECU and a pair of K-24 turbochargers.

Precisely, what are you looking for?

Yes I know that much =)

I´m looking for 500+ everyday working HP. Which mods are needed?

I´m thinking: reprogramme the ECU, decat pipes or/and muffler bypass pipes, and maybe some kind of aftermarket airfilter?

Help me out :-)

Thanks from a fresh 993 tt owner...!

Martin,

Look for tuning kits for K24 Turbos. Those are the ones you have today. If you check the normal bunch of German Tuners, you will find that they have packages suited for your configuration.

If you just want to chip the car, you should be able to get 470-480hp. Even though some tuners claim up to 550hp, well it's still the same Turbos, same camshaft, about the same mapping so don't stare at the actual HP figure too much.

Check with Rickard 993 Turbo, he's done some homework on the K24 Turbos and what powerband you can get. I have the exact same setup as you do and I strongly suggest you get muffler bypasses. Turbo Center in Sthlm has mapping of K24 Turbos, Race Cats and Race Mufflers. It gave around 490hp on that car.

I hope you enjoy the car!
Cheers

Fabspeed muffler bypass, Kevin's Stage 2 hybrid zero clearance turbo mod, Protomotive ECU upgrade, 5 bar adjustable fuel pressure regulator, Profec Bspec II boost controller. Results will be 540-560 HP at the flywheel. After sellin and installing mulitples of these kits on severall different dynos in different parts of the country this is where the HP winds up...

Bob that is very good kit and I wouldn't mind it myself at all. It is probably superior to the one I've got today.

The thing I thought of would have the benefit of not replacing the Turbos and it would be a bit cheaper. Since Martin already have the K24's, he could do a few tricks with them. Ok, he'd be not in the 540+ range, but still it would be quite descent. Dunno though if he'd stick with the K24's if the standard FPR would do, I suspect it would need to be replaced with tuned K24's also.

I know TB it flies in the face of all the RS tuners and slide rule projections, but that is real world with real world cars, multiple dynos, and customers that call me and tell me that my projections were right on when they went to their local dyno. I was hesitant to post this as it evokes strong feelings, but this is the way it works in real life over here. Maybe with the dollar to Euro we get a favorable HP exchange rate.

Actually, SAE is lower than DIN....

But what really counts is as usual, the performance of the car.. Peak HP is nice, but it's only a small part of the story.

This is very simular to what im going to have this summer, but i will stay with with stock k24or if Kevin will give me alot for my almost new k16 i have now, vill take that with him private. I do no like the Profec BC i like the HKS or the Blitz and i have install over 100 of diffrent BC, but that does matter the all do the same job better or worse, i also have a LWF and HD sach motorsport clutch. also a set of cams is already bought

Bob...can you give a ballpark cost to modify a stock 993TT with what you've described here?

I'm starting my search for the right example and plan to do mods very similar to this once I find it. Obviously knowing a ball park will help me in the initial purchase being that obvious mod costs will follow.

Thanks!

If you were to do this work on my 1997 993 TT, 100% stock, what would be a ballbark figure to complete the job? Where would I get the job done living in Maine??

Two hours south of you (driving the speed limit ) is European Performance Engineering (EPE) in Natick, MA. I believe they serviced VB's car when he lived out here?
