Question for all you heavy modders - anybody change their input shaft when and if they kept it AWD?

There are two types of carbon doors, one where you replace the doorskin with carbon, but keep the rest unchanged, this would save about 10kg per door I believe. The other type is a one-piece carbon door with fixed lexan windows (and a sliding Lexan piece) - these are really really light and save far more, but are less practical.

GT2 has same 0.34Cd I believe, but I have a figure of 1.77sq.m for frontal area, don't know where I found that though. I would have though upright screen on 993 would be the major difference anecdotally.......

You'll be close, the Yellowbird runs 195mph usually, which is lighter (not sure of the exact weight), but has less power (perhaps 520bhp).

Lot more than 1.5-ish miles. Adams red RTurbo should do a genuine 212mph with the 550bhp engine it has, but it's best at Brunters is usually around 190mph (though it's much heavier).

According to Porsche's Service Information Technik for the GT2 (PNA 495 220) Page 5-2
Cd = .34
AF = 1.96
Cd x AF = .67

It seems like a wash!

Re Guy R comment on carbon door types. I have full carbonfibre doors (ie cf replaces all steel bits) that uses original door and window mechanisms -- including electrics. These can be fitted with l/w plastic or original glass. A very large weight saving . Window operate normally .Much more pleasant than fixed plastic . Also have the same sytem on 996 as well as 993. Weight saving is much greater in 993.

Leon
Great look, unique and mean. The carbon pod mirrors really suit the 993 don't they (altho not sure what function they serve ? )

Re your rear spoiler, it was added by Ruf right ? I presume it is there purely in the pursuit of top speed ?
You mention different intercooler - can we have a pic ?

I notice your torque number jumped by 10lb/ft - presume the original was a typo - did you manage to get hold of the dyno sheets ?

Are your doors the complete frame type ?

WOW! This must be the nicest I have seen. That wing is outstanding, the shaved rain gutters give the car a very sleek look. I presume that car behind you is jim? (our RL MJIMS here)

TB you got yourself some serious competition, sorry to say this and I don't mean it in a bad way for JC, but JC's 9M car is no competition, this RUF is the real stuff. Just tell me when you are running against each other and I will be on the next plane to the UK! Might be cheaper for me if Leongets an AX22

Thanks for the great pics.

Leon,

Your car looks great, the Modular wheels really suit it. I also love the pod mirrors on the car.

I was all happy and content with my 964RSA and then you had to go and post photos of your 993TT. Now I'm going to have to spend another 6 months driving around in Toyota pickup truck while I find a suitable 993TT and massage the engine and bodywork in my garage. Shaving the rain gutters is going to be one big PITA...

Stunning car Leon.
You should really try to post high-res pictures.
