GT Oil Cooler - Am I missing something?
Been following the posts over the last few months regarding the Cargraphic and Ruf auxiliary oil coolers. What I have gathered is that, essentially the Cargraphic and Ruf auxiliary oil coolers are the same.
Well, if you go to http://www.rufautocentre.com/parts/pdf/993.pdf and see page 3, you will see that the price for the Ruf is $ 1,299 whereas the Cargraphic GT oil cooler is $2,141... That's a BIG difference - that can't be right, am I missing something?
Thanks & best regards,
Ziad

Hi Ziad. No, you are not missing anything......go for the best buy. I recently went to Ruf to get it installed and was told their unit is cheaper than at other sites. If I were you I'd buy it from.....well, I'll give you a vowel "U" and two consonants "F" and "R".

Just got a reply from Cargraphic about the price difference. Apparently, according to Cargraphic, although their GT oil coolers look the same (as the RUF), they use Seacom cores, which I am told (by Cargraphic) are much more efficient cooling units (and more expensive)...
Any comments anyone?

I went with the Ruf too, I don't know s__t about Seacom cores in the Cargraphic coolers. Maybe its a application you need if you running higher hp in combination with the intercooler. I don't see the point. There was a group buy on the Ruf unit a while back and the price you have quoted is real good IMO.
PS: Bahrain, Send more oil........

Tom, thanks... I will go for the RUF, you simply can;t go wrong with that
Rassel, I'm pretty sure he said Seacom "cores"...
Tony, not sure what that is, but they were described as "cores"...

A lot of the stuff Cargraphic sell is developed by RS Tuning - they are one of the few tuners who have a working relationship with Secan and were the biggest customer for the 993GT2 Evo intercooler with Secan cores.
It would make sense that their oil cooler uses Secan hardware, and yes its always very expensive - in fact the price difference seems too little and makes me wonder if the info given by Cargraphic is accurate ?
BTW I have the RS oil coolers
