The intel chip is it a ROM/PROM/EPROM/EEPROM/Flash EPROM or perhaps something else?
Is the intel chip through-hole mounted or SMD mounted?
If you're setting a socket there, I presume the new chip will not be the same as the old one?
How will you replace the spot for the old chip with a socket?
If replacing the chip are you buying the chip on vendor or spot market?
