993tt Autocar Road Test 1995
To Celebrate by new scanner I thought I would treat 993tt Rennlisters with the full Autocar Road Test from 1995, the 3rd page is a bit fuzzy, but it's right at the limit - enjoy

I hate to say it, but i sorta agree with the conclusion. I love my TT and will keep it always, but i did find my previous 993c2 more fun for the street in some ways.
Is there any way to getup our TT's so the front end feels like a c2?

Thanks for sharing, TB. BTW, I scanned some other early reviews of the TT from Performance Car, Autoweek, and Automobile mags a couple of years ago and put them on my rennlist site at the bottom ...

Rob, other than disconnecting the 4WD, I've not heard or encountered any way to replicate the lively front end and razor sharp response of the 993 NA. When I had the 4WD disconnected for a month in the spring I loved the steering feel of the TT. Don't know how long it's prudent to drive with it that way, but it was a lot of fun.

John,
Thanks for the link to the magazine articles. I used to have every copy of Performance car, but an Ex (and I stress Ex!) decided that they were surplus to requirement so it was great to re-live some of those great articles.
Cheers!

Thanks for sharing...and i quite agree that while i love my TT to death, it is not quite as much fun when it comes to chucking it around B roads compared to my old 993C2.

Ziad,
Wait until you do an HP upgrade. I have not missed a single day my 3.6 turbo, I would not tradr this car for anything, at least in the next 2 months or so

Thanks for that - and interesting to see how much motoring journalism's style in the UK has shifted only in the past ten years...
Strange how their summation is pretty close to the general consensus regarding the 997TT. Plus ca change I guess...
I've never driven a 993 C2, but I have to say, I really want to.
I was surprised at how much more delicate my mother's Boxster's steering felt today when I took it out for a quick spin (TT 'borrowed' the parentals' garage due to the storms this side of the Atlantic)... lighter, but more neural... RWD does have its benefits...
