PSS 9 Settings
I am after some guidance on my suspension settings please, namely how hard / soft to make my dampers. The present set up is as below:
Front & Rear
Ride Height 25 & 24 3/4
Camber 1.5 deg & 2 deg
Corner Weight 630 & 790 / 810 (L/R)
Castor 11 deg
Toe in 1mm & 2mm
Damper setting 1 click off soft & 1 click past half way to hard
The set up works very well for normal road driving, though I turn the front end up 2 clicks for track work as it makes the car turn in better. My main query is how hard to make the rear for the track, as going too hard will make the back end hoppy?
I appreciate it is all down to me trying different settings, but am after any thoughts people have after twiddling with their settings, to save me a few wheels off exercises!
Also, what do people make of the settings apart from the damper settings? The garage took ages to set it up properly, and the head tech who did the work races 911's himself, so hopefully it should be something like proper.

You're right that everyone is different. I have been running mine with the rears set 1 to 2 clicks firmer than the fronts to help turn in...without undue oversteer.
At our local track (10 turns, 3.1 mi, 1 mi straight, no real banks), I set my fronts at 4 clicks from firmest, and rears at 2 or 3 clicks from firmest. Seems to work well for me.

mine is set at 5 all the way around. Great for street, but the car is a bit too fast to rotate (spin) on the track.
i need to adjust something, b/c i spun very easily at my last track event.

I wouldn't think that 5 all around would make the car more likely to spin. If you had the rears set at total firmness and the fronts at totally soft, maybe.
What tire pressure we you running at the track?

Thanks for the replies, looks like I am going to have to get 1) A soft socket 2) Low level jack 3) Jack to car mounting plate 4) Dust torque wrench down.....and start experimenting.
The last time I changed the front settings, I used the standard little jack, and upon prolonged vigorous rotation of the handle I swiped my knuckles into the ground
Regards tyre pressures I run 2.2 bar front and 2.7 rear. If you don't already have one, its worth buying a digital pressure gauge to drop your pressures after each of your first 3 or 4( ? - am no expert) laps to your preferred setting. Though remember to pump them back up at the first petrol station you find!!

i was running 31 front, 33 rear (cold at 8am) on SO2 tires (standard 285).
I had a very good driver/club racer/shop owner drive the car for a run session and he agreed that it was very hard to drive and would "rotate too easily". I have pss9 with TRG sways set at the middle adjustment.
What pressures should i be running?

You don't sound far off, but what I've found is that I need to inflate the rears to a lower pressure than the fronts, with the aim of arriving at balanced pressure around all 4. On street tires, I would target 40 PSI hot, which typically translated into 32 front, 31 rear cold.
As Marty suggested, I've had the rears inflated more than the fronts and turned a corner very quickly, BACKWARDS. No damage, other than ego, and lots of learning on tire pressure since.
By the way, I now run Michelin Sport Cups on the track (which I love), and I'll start them out around 25-28 cold, with a target of 32-36 hot.

PSS9 settings
I run with -2 degrees camber front and rear and the PSS9 in the firmest position. It handles well on track, not too hard for my liking, but a bit hard for road use. My wife does not complain, but she thinks the racing seats are uncomfortable.
I run on 2,5 bar front and 3,0 bar rear and adjust it after run warm. The car handles neutral, and is easy to handle. A 996 GT 3 that I drove together with handled better had better cornering abilities (no surprise). I have ordered new RS adjustable sway bars rear (not available front for tt) and will try various settings. I will keep you posted after next trackday.

I'm with Hans. 1 Front and rear for the track. I had the opportunity to ride in a GT3 this past weekend. It had a stock suspension. The Pss9 setup is by far superior on our cars FWIW.

its seems to want to rotate around midcorner as well as at exit. Turn-in seems ok. Throttle inputs are modulating power and trying to get on the gas before the apex. I cant speak for my 'coach' that drove the car on his throttle inputs, but he is very smooth and is one of the best club racers in the region with a turbo.

If your alignment is okay, then the only thing I can think of is to set the rear sway bar softer. I have the RS bars and run the rear at full soft, and front in the middle with PSS9 set at 2/4 (R/F). I run equal tire pressures front/rear. However, I'm guessing your alignment may be at play more than anything else.
