The first package developed in the US which I for once do not have to be sceptical about
Kevin's turbo expertise matched with high end exhaust all properly mapped by a 993tt experienced European electronics wizard on a proper chassis dyno - I am gleefully looking forward to the guy who is being smoked on the track "why is my
GTR 550 Stage 3 Flash Bling check engine light CIAG not as fast as my pal's Ultimate Motorsport Stage 1 ?"

Folks, I'm pleased to offer my first Turbocharger package on Rennlist.

It will consist of my Stage 1 (K16/24 GT1's) turbochargers

1996 993TT ECU Programming tuned for this package from my favorite Tuner Guenter Mandl.

And lastly, the largest 100 Euro Cat's available for the 993TT measuring 130-131mm..

Kevin;

What about us 97 owners? I already have your GT1s but no ECU programming.

Thanks,

Kevin, Congrats this is exactly what Rennlisters and other 993tt owners need!
A nice, simple package which has realistic claims and is affordable. Just like I/A
and some others do for the 996 TT. I am sending you a package today.
Marty Kaye.

Just another thumbs up for Kevin. I have had his GT1, Zero Clearance, billet backing plates, etc.(the first such pair of turbos, I think) for over a year and I have been very very happy with them and his customer service.

Kevin,

Ditto "boostid" - what about later ECU's? Mine's a late build - March 1998.
I will be in the US in a couple of weeks time for a couple of weeks...

Thanks

Vs.

Thanks guys.. I have posted a picture of the '96 ECU.. In the lower left hand corner you will see the chipset. In the '97 ECU this has been replaced with a single chip. The '96 ECU is a faster ECU, it has one chip handles memory while the other chip handles the processing tasks. They are actually Intel chips. Put side by side in seat of the pants driving I doubt that one could tell the difference. However, I have been told that the '96 is smoother.

For the folks that have '97's, I can also supply the programming. For those that have my GT1's that have requested just the ECU. I must state that this programming is tuned for the 100 cell Euro cat in this system.

Kevin - what exhaust (post-cat) is this optimized for? Does it require bypasses or will a Fabspeed, Cargraphic etc work?

Does not require bypasses.. And good free flow muffler design. Cargraphics and Techart are good choices, along with Fabspeed.

Would it be correct to assume that this package would not pass the California smog test due to the 100 Euro Cats?

Is it possible to create something that is "smoggable" and also has a significant increase in power? Are these mutually exclusive?

I don't recall that 100 FVD or Cargraphic cats have a problem with smog???

The problems rear it's head when running cat bypasses and the code is stored.

How much money do you want to spend in custom tuning, and what is the alternative? Running 10 year old 400 cell stock cats that are plugging up?

Tom.

I have Kevin's GT1 turbos, a modified ecu and stock cats and I am making plenty of power, and I pass smog, so it is definitely doable and very nice indeed!

Was your modified ecu done by Guenther?
