ECU with 16/24s...choices?
Looking for recommendation for ECU on '97. Will have Kevin doing the 16/24 turbos...I know he's got a program, but looking to see who's used what and if they are happy or not. I've got a line on two other ECU's...one is an FVD the other is a Garrett(?...can't find my notes!).
Any input would be great.
Thanks,

You can't beat Gunter's GT1 K16/24 ECU tune.. Do you have a '97 ECU in hand.. If you don't want matching programming from me, I'd purchase Don's ECU that he has for sale. Q45..

Yours are K16/Stage 2 Z/C alot larger than the K24's. The little brother is the K16/24 GT1's or Stage 1.. Which does use the compressor side components of the K24..

The problem for Kevin in posting his charts here is that in a Rennlist world of "I've got 500hp with K24s and a boost controller" his charts do not seem that impressive.
In reality he has gone a very Porsche-like route renting a Maha dyno and flying over Gunther, who is one of the very few in the world who can properly program these cars Motronic M5.2 maintaining factory type boost control with all the associated benefits of mid range torque and engine protection. When Gunther was programming, they had the rear bumper (fender) removed as they were loading the car up properly (how many other "tuners" have to take off your bumper when they are dynoing your car ?) which means the power which you get on the Maha is the power you will still have when your car is fully loaded and hot (when other programs will be triggering all sorts of protection strategies due to not been programmed for the excess heat - and putting out way short of the big number you extrapolated from your Dynojet/Mustang)
Kevin ha paid and dne it properly and I would highly recommend his packages and eagerly await some exciting 60-130mph videos

Marty, there will be good things coming forward in the next few months.. I have decided to step up and purchase a "new dyno" Many things are in the works.. A dyno sheet isn't worth the ink on it, unless one can run baselines before the mod and after the mod.. Or before and after the engine build.. I will go on record here and say that I "WISH" that I had the funding to purchase a MAHA dyno.. It is the finest most expensive setup.. There were three contenders.. I truely enjoy building the HP virus and spreading to all of you.. The adrenaline rush.. I could have bought another Porsche with the cash, however it is for the good of all of us.. From the 930 market, to the 996TT..

It's not just the cost of the dyno, it is expensive to run per hour.. You need a small electric plant to run it.. It has like 4 20HP eddy current motors, let alone the 80mph fan/cooling system and a concrete enclosure/room to house it in.. You can spend 150-200K on it..

How expensive are the other dynos (mustang, dyno-dynamics, dynojet, etc.)? Over the years I've searched online but no one ever discusses the costs involved.
