Question Hand pump for 5 gallon race fuel can?

I purchased a 5 gallon can of VP Fuel race fuel (MS103 in a blue round metal can) to spice up the octane level in the turbo. I transfered the fuel to a smaller CARB compliant can to put it in the car, which was a PITA. Does anyone know of a hand fuel pump which will fit on the neck of the can? I did not see one on the VP Fuel website.

Hi Tom where did you buy your 5 gal can of race fuel ? I'm thinking of buying a 55 gal drum but figured I would try a smaller quantity first to see if the performance increase is worthwhile, if all else fails I'll go over to Infinion Raceway since its only about 15 miles away from me. I can hear the races when they have the top fuel drags there from my house and can actually see the track from my upstairs bathroom window. I get my car back next week and try to blend our 91 pump gas and end up with about 94 octane. Thanks Doug

Doug,

Cycle Gear (motorcycle equipment chain store) sells several types of VP Fuel race gas in five gallon containers. There is a store in Pacheco. Check their website for other locations. They carry both leaded and unleaded fuel. Make sure you get the unleaded (MS 103).

There is also a gas station on the penninsula that sells it at the pump, which is more convinient. Unfortunately you or I would go through 1/4 to 1/2 tank of fuel to get there.

Thank You, Tom & Kevin I think I will go ahead with my plan of getting the 55 gal drum as that would be the most convienent and it comes with a pump. Doug

Folks, make sure that you go to Lowe's or Home Depot and by a grounding clamp that bolts to the drum lip and run a 10 gauge copper wire to the clamp and run it to a known ground source like copper pipes or even the center screw to a recepticle plate..

Doug- My seat of the pants gauge says that it is noticably quicker. I think that using high octane fuel is like smokiing crack, it's easy to get addicted... My tank was almost empty when I put in the 100 octane. It was "fun" driving to the Cheveron station and tempting not to dilute it down with 91 octane.

Kevin- thanks for the safety tip.

I am still looking for a pump that will work with the 5 gallon container??

You just can't beat this kind of advice from Kevin.

Tom do you have stock setup?
